These Days Era or How Bon Jovi aren't the same anymore.

I think i really prefer richie singing these days on this tour. I was surprised when i saw a video of richie singing it this year, i was very impressed and yeah richie really does still have it. plus at this point in richies life i dont know i really enjoy him on lead vocals for a song or two..
I agree with pretty much everything you said but more and more i accept the fact Jon vocals are what they used to be which is kinda a tragedy.

AND I COULD BE WRONG but i feel a HUUGE part of why bon jovi lost 'depth' in their music is because of jons voice. He used to put SO much emotion and power in the songs and i feel his voice will only go so far now and its holding him and the band back from what they used to be. Im curious to hear your opinions on that?
alot of their new songs sound weak and they just threw it together in a few hours. Do you believe if jon magically got his voice back TODAY and went in the studio they could pump out some great rock music again?

If i ever had the chance to sit down and talk with jon i'd reallllllllllly want to know what he thinks about how his voice has held up over the years but thats kinda impossible to ask without sounding like an ass so
and as for that miracle vocal chord surgery.. i think we've all had that dream lol

Yeah, your post pretty much sums up the view of a lot of the people on this board. Personally, I like (to varying degrees) all four post 2000 albums, but I will definitely agree that between Slippery and These Days is when the band were at their absolute peak

I still think KTF is the best album the band have made.

It's my favorite album, by anyone.

The first BJ album which disappointed me a little. Lots of weak songs in the 2nd half!

At the end of the day every band has their peek and their time. I too believe Bon Jovi had this between 1986-1996. They dipped IMO after the long break after 'These Days'. When they came back in 2000 they felt they had to reach a new audience, that is when it all changed.

As a live act their best years were 1995-1996 IMO. I don't think we will see Bon Jovi peeking again but I am glad that they are still there. They still kick out great live shows.

Mmm, thats my opinion as well, Slippery, New Jersey and These Days are solid the whole way through. KTF is awesome up to Dry County, The second half is good, but it's nothing compared to the first half.

And i agree that the band were in their prime live during the Crossroads and These Days Tours.

Also, that post of born_to_run's that you quoted is (for once) a reasonable enough one ... so he doesn't like KTF as much as other BJ albums, he didn't write it in that stupid "I'm right and everyone else is wrong" way he normally does, so what's the problem?
