Sure, the diehards would love it, but it would change the tone of the concert. Just my opinion.
Oh I totally agree. It's definitely NOT an uplifting song. It was very appropriate for the setting and I think it was Jon's way of expressing, for himself and those in attendance, how much Herb Ritts is missed.

TD is BJ at their introspective best, and without the now obligatory "touch the sky, live your life" pop rock single.

7800 is a great album also - watched the Silent Night video for the first time last night, one of BJs most effective and original for sure.

- sure it looks a tad daft now with all the 80s kitsch, but its very effective nonetheless.

any thoughts on the video? (check youtube if youve not seen it)

It pales in comparison to Only Lonely. But as far as bad Bon Jovi 80s videos go, it's probably my numer 2 or 3.

Only Lonely! The gay biker mafia with the sledgehammers!

And the one guy is so scared of David.

And it's the first time I ever heard Tico's voice ("Forget her man, she's gone")

Best video ever made. Ever. Ever.

One of the women in She Don't Know Me has incredible boobs. I think the one he's chasing through the whole thing.

I just watched it again but still don't know who you mean by that. Probably got her confused with some of the chicks from the Bad Medicine video?

But what I noticed is that Jon smokes a cig at the end of the video (or at least pretends to)! Didn't he start in 1996 or something? And I expected the girl at the end to shoot him while the guys were busy putting him in a headlock, and a giant, pink, 80s-style "SHOT THROUGH THE HEART!"-lettering to storm the screen. Too bad it wasn't meant to be.

Oh, and, yeah, the Only Lonely video is sheer class. Actually, I enjoy most of the cheesy early 80s-videos more than the ones from Slippery and NJ. The Prayer video is stupid, but not in a "haha, gay bikers!"-manner, but more in a "geez, stop it already"-way, not fitting the lyrics anyway. I like the Bad Medicine video, though, and not only because of the reasons stated above but also because the band actually looks pretty cool while still maintaining that classy "haha it's the 80s!" flair.

Oh, and for the record, These Days is an okay album, just way too uneven to be considered awesome IMO.

The one in the dress. She's there when he's walking around on shirtless at night.

The giant pink SHOT THROUGH THE HEART would have totally made that my favorite video.

Bad Medicine is probably my favorite in the line of "whee look a concert" videos. I absolutely love Richie in it (omg no way) and I like the part where they're all standing in the line and do the "Bad medicine". So so so good.
