Something To Believe In - I'm torn over this. This definitely should have been played, it is a fantastic song and would please just about every die-hard. But honestly, the vocals are probably the most demanding of Jon, so who knows, maybe that's why it wasn't played at Twickenham? Then again, there's no excuse for replacing Never Say Goodbye and Something To Believe In with I Love This Town and Twist & Shout.
I'm no expert, but considering how well he sung I Believe, he could have taken a stab at it. He just wanted to go home apparently.

...but at least he loves our towns.

Actually, that is a good point. I Believe was pretty amazing, and he had struggled to sing that since 1996, so his voice must surely have gotten to the point where he can perform those sort of songs off of These Days.

Seriously? He 'wanted to go home'. Fair enough, I have never done a huge world tour but TBH I don't think that's a good enough excuse. The last show of the European tour and he cuts the show short by about 5 minutes?

Yeah, i agree. Even in 2001, when Jon sang this last i think it was.. His voice wasn't great then on it, he sounded terrible. His voice was pretty good then aswell. Something to believe in would be too hard for him to sing i think.

I Don't think it would been so dificult for Jon to sing Something To Believe In in this last european tour.

Other song that he should try sometime is "My Guitar Lies Bleeding In My Arms". Not in the original key, but in a lower key.

I wasn't agreeing with his excuse. From what I know he acted like a d-bag during the London shows, and you guys deserved a lot better.

If SBTI was on the setlist originally, then they probably rehearsed it at least once. And Jon wouldn't have put it on there unless he could pull it off. And judging from how he sounded, I'm sure he could have.

'These Days' is actually a very difficult song to sing properly. I'm not saying it's beyond him but I do think its underestimated in its difficulty.

As for 'My Guitar', they murdered it even back in '96 so I think they might even struggle with it now. The problem is the range. Even at pitch, the song features some very low vocal lines but come the choruses, it's right at the other end of the spectrum. If you lower it so that Jon can hit the high notes in that song, Tico would have to sing the verses!... which would actually be very interesting to see!

I think My Guitar was brilliant in 96'. Yokohama version is brilliant.

It's awful to my ears. The band is all over the place and the vocals are so strangled. The bridge before the solo is a complete hash or errors and you can tell from Jon's face that he just wants the song to be over.

See, I never thought it was perfect but I certainly think it's a decent shot. I think it's obviously a very hard song to do all round. Jon's vocals seem okay, but I think Richie does mess up a little bit of the solo.

Maybe I'm just a little critical because it is one of my all time favourite tracks. I love it on the album and the Yokohama version was a little too messy for me. I wish they could reproduce it well but it's just so difficult to do.
