I don't think that Crush is a crap. Crush sold more than These Days for one reaon, it's more a commercial album with single like IML and OWN.
But don't mean that it's crap. I'm pretty sure that if BJ did make another album like These Days instead Crush, they would be less popular than now.

The last sentence is very true. Another These Days would only make fans happy and really wouldn't bring in as many fans as Crush would. This place exploded with Crush.

Okay, they got new fans with Crush. But ... It led them to a creative dead end. Where will they go next? I don't see it. I saw it after KTF. I saw it after TD. After Crush and Bounce I don't see it where they could go next.

The same way they have been going since 2000. That or they are going to mellow down. I became a fan with These Days. I loved it until I heard everything else! I think Bounce was a really good album. There was really only 1 song I didn't care for. I wouldn't mind them staying in this direction.

3) is the last album that has a GREAT ROCK PRODUCTION with probably the greatest arrangements they ever did
4)is the last album where there are not fillers....great rock tracks and even the deeper ballads (like it's hard lettin you go which is comparable in the way the wrote it to Open all night or you had me.....for the style BUT IT'S 1000000 TIMES BETTER...) are simply amazing with totally different approach in the playing
5) It's the last album that a lot of effort was put into making.

6) It's the last album with a good vocal performance from Jon.

7) It's the last album with a full, comprehensive world tour.

8 ) It's the last album that Tico performed on.

9) It's the last album to contain songs that aren't three minute pop songs.

10) It's the last album they made before Jon wanted to seriously become a film star.

11) It's the last album they made before Jon started turning into a bit of a ponce, wearing designer clothes, cutting his hair short, waxing (hahah, you big puffy girl) his chest and letting his shirt 'accidentally' come unbuttoned.

12) It's the last album that didn't last less than one hour.

13) It's the last album to have alternate international versions that were worth collecting (UK edition with bonus CD, Australian edition with bonus CD, Japanese editionin A4 hardback book with Karaoke days CD, Japanese edition in small hardback book etc.).

14) It's the last album that had 5 songs that were worthy of being released as singles.

15) It's the last album that wasn't crap.
Someone put a lot of thought into this. I agree totally with all the points that have been raised in this thread. I cannot listen to Bounce on a long drive...c'mon its like 45 minutes long! Although Crush made me a fan, These Days was the last Bon Jovi album.

You know, AMG critics said that "with Bounce the band tried to undo everything that Crush did for them". I think this statement is true. I don't think the band likes to have such a strong pop aura about them. And Crush brought such a big pop aura on them. Was the band ever compared to boybands before? No. Will they be able to get rid of this pop aura? I'm not sure. They tried hard with Bounce, but the results of all their efforts was Grammy nomination for "best pop performance" together with NSync.

Their direction since 2000 has been inconsistency and lack of direction. That's why I feel the way I feel. It seems to me they have no creative direction. They don't know where to go.

You contradict yourself. How can TD be the last Bon Jovi album if Crush made you a fan? How?

Erm both the uk version of crush and the uk this left feels right last for over 1 hour. The rest i cant argue with i disagree but its your opinion and mines is well the opposite.
