TheseDays is their ONLY consistent good album! :s!?
Okok..this may start a few arguements but hey!
These days is SUCH an album..my fav rock album of all time..the thing being that EVERY one of the songs are brilliant..and the title track..well i shoodnt have to try convince y'all wot a brilliant piece of work that is!
This album is commonly seen as the guys more 'serious' work..all songs are incredibly well written and, 4 a change, address issues like faith and religion insted of the usual moaning about being in love etc
Something to beleive in is just amazing...lovely richie vocals in the back 2..Hey god is powerful..something4the pain and all i want is everthing serious and thoughtful.. U just have to look at Crush...this is just a comercial record aimed at thoses who buy records coz ''theyr quite catchy'', more than half the songs on it are poor 4 Bon Jovis standards..Just older i think is one of the few songs that stand out on this record as songs such as One wild nite are nothing more than a 'catchy tune'!
Back to my argument then..Even a top album like Keep the faith has its lows in songs like 'woman in love' 'sleep..' and 'fear'.. and as for bounce, 'joey, all about loving u,u had me from hello, open all nite'... i doubt are anyones favourite songs!
I hope im not gona start world War III here..but in Bon Jovi i think it is clear that itz Jon's side of things that favour the 'pop' side..sure he CAN write good songs (blaze album demonstartes this) but we can only have so much catchy pop songs about love, girlfriends etc where we can predict the next lines..eg. 'lie' rhyming with 'die' or 'cry' etc. Just look at Richie albums... FAR better lyrically than anything from Crush or Bounce.
Sure Jon is a great showman..he can certainly entertain a crowd but i dont see him as a great songwriter..either that or he doesnt show his abililty like he shood i.e Thesedays style!
wow..this was turing into an essay! id love to hear ppls thots..wether itz a slap round the head or a pat on the back i dont mind!
keep the faith
