I wouldn't like to see this type of thing done for the boxset, but it would be good for B-Sides for the singles, or even a stand-alone single.

That'd be cool;

Livin' On A Prayer/You Give Love A Bad Name Double A-Side Single
Keep The Faith (B-Side)
Wanted Dead Or Alive (B-Side)
Always (B-Side)

That could just be released with no new videos or anything, just a fan thing.

Good idea, but I don't think it would work with Bon Jovi...... a) I don't think they're good enough now to pull off somethign like Prayer and capture the energy they did have on that..... Let it Rock, Wanted, Bad Name I think would all sound weakened, with respect to Bad Name and Prayer, a little like the live songs today.... i.e no real drive or power.......

If you're Maiden, or Purple, or WHitesnake, or Van Halen, and can sound as good today as the day you recorded your classic album, it would work, as it would be different, but the thing that was in the songs then, woudl still be in them now. I think that drive has been lost by Bon Jovi, so a Slippery wouldn't come off.

Slippery was a great rock album, it would be killed with effects like on Bounce.... absolutely slaughtered!!!!!!!!

I think they could possiably do something along those sorts of lines maybe, rerecording things like Keep the Faith, and Dry County, which aren't 'energy rock songs' like Homebound Train, or Raise your Hands. However, I kind of feel there would be no real need to rerecord these tracks, their not that old in anycase, and I dont think they'd sound that much differet.....

I just don't think this idea would work for BJ. I dont' like accoustic versions too much usually, so an accoustic Tokyo Road would do nothing for me. I don't think there is a great opotunity to do a orchestra thing, although they could suprise me .......

At the end of the day, I think if they release a box it'll all be old stuff, as they won't actually put that much into it. Fill the quota of live tracks, unreleased, one or two rare things (like Richie in his first bands.... what were they called now?) and about half of it just songs form the albums, i,e things we already have.......

It would be nice for Bon Jovi to take the risk though. I doubt it would work, I don't think it would be that great, but I think if they were bold enough to go into a studio to do something that seems risky, it would mark a change in attitude in the band!

Pink Floyd re-recorded Dark Side of the Moon LIVE as part of the Pulse CD. I love the new recording, the sound is the best live recording I've heard. But - I also love the original with Roger Waters. As a fan, I'm happy to have both. So, I'm all for it too.

I definitely think it would be interesting.............but I don't think I would want it to be in the box set and take away something I haven't yet heard. I do think it is a cool idea though. I think doing a new studio version of Crossroads would be cool.

My idea was for the band to do this... it doesnt have to be in the box set, maybe something released at the same time as the box set? or B-Sides, the point it i think it would be cool to hear something other than a live version.

Well, let's face it, we're gonna get loads of old stuff anyway, they're not going to put out a boxed set of just "new" songs, that would mean 4 hours of songs no one has ever heard of.

If I'd have to guess, I'd say it's 3 CD's worth of hits and live songs and (if we're lucky!) one CD of unreleased tracks, most of which we've heard before. But hey, it's just me, I could be wrong...

I like the idea of recording SWW again. There's been so much debate and argueing about Jon's voice etc. so there we could really compare

Like Christine said, I also would like to hear some new stuff, but like Ice said it might not happen anyway. So if we are going to hear the big hits again, they might as well be new recordings. And not like Prayer '94 but what they sounded back then.

Didn't Marti Pellow re-record a load of old Wet Wet Wet songs for his latest album? I've not heard much about it so I don't know how well the fans responded

It's not something I'd personally be interested in for Bon Jovi to do as (like several other people) I'd rather hear unreleased songs or even have another live album before they re-recorded anything.

Live doesn't count..... They used to perform Pulse as a whole piece in anycase..... Like The who with Tommy, or them again with the Wall..... Of cource they didn't always do this, but certainly early on they just performed it as one piece....

Just thinking, Deep Purple re-recorded a track from The In Rock album (1970) called Bloodsucker.... In actual fact, vocally it was better, and nice to hear with a different band, but it was the weakest song on the album, I think everybody would have prefered them to have just saved it for live.... At the end of the day, if they go into a studio, it shoudl be to record something new.
