The IML remake is good. It's completely different from the original, but it's cool and the arrangement actually adds something to the song. The Everyday remake is also alright, even though it sounds VERY artificial at times. Still, it works out better than the original which never really takes off IMO.

Born To Be My Baby is bearable, even though it's just an ultra sappy version of the original. Prayer is horrible, if I want a ballady Prayer, I'll listen to Prayer '94. Bad Name is trying too hard and thus fails.

Can't even remember the rest now. Horrible album.

Best Jon Solo(guitar)? - All I've got to compare is the "I'd die for you" solo, the "Two Story town" outro and the "Rockin in the free world". Basically the same but "free world" would win for me because it shows slightly more feel from Jons playing.

Best Richie Solo(singing or guitar)? - Singing - Father Time. Guitar - Any Live version of "Keep the faith"

Best David Solo(singing)? - In these Arms

Best Tico Solo(singing)? - Tico rocks so either "crazy" or "Only in my dreams" becaue I haven't listened to any other.

After reading this thread the other day and thinking about it - I listened to some of the album and some of the DVD last night. The album is horrible - even worse than I remembered. I think last night was only the second time it got played.

The DVD however surprised me. Again I think I watched it when it came out and I never saw it again. For a starter the sound is far better than what we are used to from Bon Jovi. The additional tracks that were taken off the album also help. I forgot how much I liked this version of LMS. Richie singing on Prayer is a huge plus. And I don't care how cheesy it is - I liked Sylvia's Mother when Dr. Hook sang it and I think Bon Jovi did an excellent job on it as a cover. I still don't like many of the remakes but some - such as IML aren't as bad as I thought.

The main difference is in watching them play these songs though. There is a lot of complicated guitar from Richie that just doesn't come across on the album. The bottom line is that I ripped the audio from the DVD and will try it out in my flac player. The album will never be played again probably but the live version which has a very different sound may grow on me if I listen a few more times.
