No, I'm saying you need to get a sense of humour first! Smilies can allow something that might be possible to take as a personal attack to be taken as a little dig that should be laughed off in the spirit it was given.

Because smilies are used wrong
Is that your opinion or is that a fact that everyone has to abide by cos you don't get them unless they're used the way you can comprehend?

Considering the fact that you're still going against Ice' comment about the specific goal it's not really done dusted and over for you. Plus it actually proves Ice point even more.

I have one, thanks.

No, that's the way people who don't know how to use them use them. They're not there to change the meaning of a sentence, they're there to enhance it. You can't say something bad and then put a smilie at the end and think no ones going to care. If you can't say it without a smilie, then don't say it.

Now you're treading somewhere you shouldn't. I'm pretty sure that I'm the one who has studied Internet communication and communication in general. I don't recall you ever having a degree in communication... So before you start telling me that I don't comprehend something, maybe you should read a few books first.

So your degree covers smilie comprehension in full - was that what you based your dissitation on by any chance?

The way I see it, you can say something in person that can be taken many different ways depending upon the manner in which it's said - facial expression, tone, environment etc.

Unfortunately, we don't have the luxury of being able to see people face to face when something is said on the net Ice - hence the use of smilies to infer general expression of otherwise blunt text.

That's just common sense - you don't need a degree in communications to tell you that!

You're really trying to piss me off, aren't you? No, what I said was that you shouldn't start teling me that I don't know how smilies are used or that I don't understand them, which is what you were implying. Though stupidly, but anyway. And don't use big words anymore, you can't spell them.

I simply stated that you shouldn't start an argument over something you don't know shit about, but then again you can argue over anything, the sad little bastard you are. Doesn't matter if you know something about it or not.

Like I said, smilies are used to enhance the message, you use them to change the meaning of a sentence. You can't say: "you're stupid" and put a smilie at the end and think it's okay.

I didn't say you were 'stupid' or anything of the sort.

'Know something' about the art that is smilie application? WTF?!?

Oh, and who was it that criticised others about resorting to insults when they couldn't think of anything intelligible to say in response?

TLFR performed live? **** no! I'm even GLAD they didn't perform it. I mean, not all the tracks were bad. I personally thought that IML and Everyday on TLFR were great, but the problem is, they lacked the energy of the originals. That goes for all the songs. They simply just didn't rock. If you've seen a live show and the TLFR DVD, take a moment to compare the two. When I saw Bon Jovi at the United Center in Chicago, Jon was like a ball of fire. On the DVD, he just kind of stood there and made some hand motions. Now which would you rather have?
