My copy was a freebie from the label too. I may have listened to it once. Horrible. It's also the only video/dvd I don't own.

It's very VERY bland on the whole. I find it does have some good moments, and some God-awful moments. I've never hated it as much as a lot of people here do.

I still prefer this version of "Everyday" over the original though.

Oh, and Olivia d'Abo's vocals are one of the worst things I've ever heard, and not just in music.

Agreed. Fred Savage would have been a better choice.

I remember someone saying it was Bon Jovi for dinner parties. It's pretty bland. I agree with it being a good idea but poorly executed. There's a few ok tunes on it- It's My Life is a nice reworking, Wanted isn't a disaster and I quite like Born To Be My Baby too. But the ballads just plod along without much change- Bed Of Roses and I'll Be There For You are pointless and lazy, and just remove all the passion from the original versions.

I've always thought it would do better as a bonus disc or the equivalent of present day downloadable contact. Releasing and promoting as a stand alone album was probably an unwise move on the whole. What may have worked better is if they did the concert first and released that, so people knew what to expect. Equally, Ive mentioned before how Bon Jovi fans moan about the lack of change, but then projects like TLFR or Lost Highway come about with some semblance of change and they are rejected, then wonder why they end up with Bon Jovi by-the-numbers. Not to excuse some of the dirge on the album, but it was probably always going to be unpopular, and crowbarring some of the worse ones into the live shows was a poor decision too

TLFR is crap. I only own it as I got it free from label. Utter plop - other than the version of Its My Life.
You made me laugh with your reply. Well as I understand your opinion is the final one for everybody - if you say its crap, that means it’s crap and no discussions. It's OK for you to say that TLFR is crap, but when I say that WAN is crap, you start crying like a little girl. Grow up mate .
For me TLFR is decent, different, but decent, much better than some of the later work. And it doesn't have anything to do with the fact how much I post on this board.

It's My Life is decent.

Plus the album sounds cheap as ****. The drum-loops sound powerless, the vocals sound thin, and a ton of the arrangements just don't work at all.

Like other people said, it was a good idea poorly executed. By far the worst Bon Jovi album, worst vocals, worst arrangement, worst producer.

If i'm not wrong at that time before the album went out and got a bad reception by EVERYBODY (not only the fans), during interviews Jon was saying to the press that he asked to Patrick Leonard to produce the next Bon Jovi record.

Thanks god Jon changed his mind. Have A Nice Day is pretty bad with Shanks, I can't imagine it with Pat.

Poor Production, Lazy Vocals, and Bad Song Choices.

However, some songs do work. IML, Bad Name, Bad Med. Jon has a history of slowing down his "rockers" aka Runaway 2000.

I think Jon should have selected all "rockers" and skipped the "ballads", plus selected some songs that weren't hits. Throw Jon's '95 vocals on them along with decent production and that might have worked.

The Mona Lisa isn't a perfect painting but if Leonardo da Vinci repainted it and fixed those imperfections, it doesn't make it better. It's just a duplicated piece of crap...... I actually told Jon this. We'll, I told Obie who told Jon. Ironically right after, Jon said he is not going to play them anymore because it messes with peoples memories.

I actually like the DVD / live versions better so If I do listen to it, I listen to the ripped audio from the DVD.
