Never say never

When I heard these versions of the songs for the first time, I thought: "WTF?". But when I bought the album, I really liked it. IMO, though the songs lost their rock-essence they gained something very particular. I think the TLFR versions are beautiful. My fave is Born To Be My Baby

P.S. But I'll Be There For You is an absolute crap! :P

I still love it. I skip a few songs - Prayer, Bad Medicine, I just don't like the way they are done this time around. But I can't get enough of Lay Your Hands On Me, I love the way they did it and it's my favorite on the album. I also really like Wanted and Bad Name. Always and Bed of Roses don't sound too much different to me.

My roommate criticizes the album saying how they shouldn't have changed rockers to ballads. She says "a rock song should never be changed into anything but a rock song". (Though, ironically, she admitted that it would be a stroke of genius if HER favorite band, Creed, did the same thing. Hmmm... )

But anyway, that's what I like about it. Great songs switched up a little. If I wanted to hear the same old version, I'd save my money and just listen to the albums I have.

It's really horrible, I like Born To Be My Baby and Have A Little Faith In Me (but that doesn't count does it). It's worst thing Bon Jovi ever did.

Agree with Thierry.
I think i listened to this album maybe three times. Sometimes you think, i need to hear this or this again .... but not even the case, i don't like it.

I haven't listened to it since way back when I first bought it. And then it was only once or twice. Like others have said it's too boring. The only interesting part to me were the tiny lyric changes from the original versions. I haven't even bought the dvd, which means it is the first official BJ release (except for singles) that I don't own. I may buy it someday to complete my collection, but I just don't feel the need to spend the $ on it right now. Rather save for the boxset.

Well said. Lay Your Hands On Me, Born To Be My Baby and You Give Love Bad Name may have the same lyrics, but to me they are completely different songs. They make me feel totally different emotions than the originals. The new versions aren't better or worse, just different.

OK, some of them are worse... I really don't like the new versions of Prayer or Bad Medicine.
