I think Bounce is too much over produced. Listen to Boune or Everyday for example and you can hear loads of talk box and computer generated sounds. I don't like that. I want good old fashioned rock 'n' roll.

i'm not sure about that one but i think that parts of 'open all night' sounds like the chorus of the elton john song 'i want love'.

...i don't want to fall in love with you, i try try try but i can't get around the truth...
sounds like:
(from the elton john song i want love)...i want love but it's impossible, a man like me so irresponsible...

and there are other parts of open all night that i feel like i've heard from somewhere else before, but don't remember where.

Bounce in my opinion has not held up like other Bon Jovi albums. The opening three songs are among the best openers for a Bon Jovi album ever but then the whole project is uneven. I think that it was meant to be a rock album but it seems more lightweight material won in the end. In fact most of their best work for this album ended up on B sides (Breathe, Still Standing, We Can Dance among others). I think part of the problem was it started out being more of a 911 influenced album but I feel that they were hampered by Bruce's The Rising a bit. Jon seemed to really want to distance himself from Bruce in interviews when the album was released. I think overall there are some great songs and there is no such thing as bad Bon Jovi album of course and this is no where near the bottom of the list for me among Bon Jovi albums. But I really think it could have been so much better. I will always treasure the Times Square concert and the entire 2003 tour for those reasons alone Bounce was a blast!

Urbanjovi, you said it perfect. That is how I feel about Bounce. To me, it's not an album that has stood the test of time. When I first brought the album, I enjoyed it and thought it was one of their best but now listening to it, I can't even listen to half of the songs. It just seems to have started rocking and then it just lost it's stream. The songs are so light weight,

Yes, I do hear a bit of that. But that's what I like about it. I love the storytelling songs. I think Elton John is amazing and I do get some Elton from Joey and Right Side of Wrong (which I love this song). I think Bounce is a good album. There isn't a song on it that I skip. I have to really not like a song to do that. On Crush there are 2 or 3 that I skip. I'm not a big fan of the ballads on Bounce, but I still listen to them and sing to them. The rest of the album is just awesome to me. I love the song "Bounce", I thinks it's a fun song. I had it playing one day in my car when I had my neices with me and they loved it. It's a catchy song.
