"The fact that this is so close tells me that people are voting for the band and not the drummer. This is comical."

Well, that's the whole point -- WHY is Peart being compared to someone whose music is pretty much the opposite of Rush's? It doesn't REALLY leave the fans much of a choice, does it? And if Tico's not respected by other great drummers (like Nicko?), I suspect that has a LOT more to do with jealousy over his gambling on a "teen idol" and hitting the jackpot than with the quality of his playing.

Which is fine by me, because it's Ultimate Classic Rock who are the ones who aren't playing fair -- and I'm thrilled that they're getting called on it!

VOTE FOR TICO!

He's come from way behind. There's only about 1% separating the two now.
Now 7% unfortunately.

I voted for Neil Peart.
Not mention that he is a hell of a songwriter too. I really respect the guy and as I said earlier in this thread - he might just win the whole damn thing.

Tico Torres Vs. Neil Peart (Poll Closed)
Neil Peart 52.17%
Tico Torres 47.83%

Tico lost...HOORAY!!!!
It is hardly a crime to lose to Neal Peart, and CERTAINLY not by less than five points!!! But more important, here's hoping that Ultimate Classic Rock learned a lesson: It was such a blatant mismatch, it came across as a deliberate attempt to humiliate our Tico -- which we did NOT allow to happen! Congrats, good show and well done to all the voters -- and up yours, Ultimate Classic Rock!!!

On the contrary, "such a blatant mismatch" brings hundreds (thousands?)of hits to a page than nobody would see if the competition was between 2 less popular musicians. Hits = popularity = $$$ for the site owner. Marketing marketing!

Many FB & TWT BJ fanpages including Matt Bongiovi's asked fans to vote for Tico, that's why he started at 7% (the first time I watched) and ended up at 47!

If money was the ultimate motive for Ultimate Classic Rock, they sure didn't get to earn it at Tico's "expense!"

*applause*

All websites need a lot of hits to be popular or just to survive. Ultimate Classic Rock found out that BJ was a gold mine so expect more members to be listed in the next challenges! And when it comes to bassists, who will they choose?

If you're in it for the page hits, make it Alec John Such vs. Hugh McDonald

I just remembered the Bucharest gig in 2011 when Jon went:

"Hector Samuel Juan Torres on the drums. You badass mother****er!!"

I love Tico. Always have. He might not be the best drummer ever, but I could watch an entire gig of him smashing those drums. That is rare. Around the 6:00 mark is Jon's comment
