I am pretty sure they are Tico Himself. I know the ones you mean Jim. Seb will probably confirm this however. Since the Crush Tour the drum kit which he has been using, has the TT logo on the front. Very cool!

And, while we are on the subject, on the bounce tour (maybe others too, im not sure) but there appears to be some sort of glass shield infront of the drumraisor. Does anybody know, if that serves its purpose?

It's not glass, it's plexiglass. And it's there to keep the drum sound from bleeding into other microphones.

yup it's plexi glass and it's so the sound doesn';t go out and bleed into other mics but it also projects it back so tico can hear what the fron tof the kit sounds like better and his mics pick up more.

dunno why he's never done it before. maybe they've started using more sensitive mics or something?

Plexi Glass screens are becoming increasingly more common. Many Drummers in Musicals are using them these days- Tony Bourke, who plays in "We Will Rock You" in London has an enormous screen.

I think that Tico uses the screen because he has been using different microphones since the One Wild Night Tour.

JBJ's useless trivia: stevie ray vaughn used a plexi glass cover in front of a cranked marshall half stack so he could blast the mofo out without defeaning everyone on stage.

I also think the images are Tico.

Not only the drum shield changed, Richie uses a wired guitar nowadays (I believe since the Crush tour). On LFL you can see him running around on LYHOM with a wireless guitar. Not exactly wireless, he uses a transmitter en nowadays it's directly plugged in. I thought it was for the sound quality but I don't believe it's a big difference.
