TLFR a flop.

...people only take the billboards seriously when the album is doing well. heeeeeeeeeeyyyyy...we're Number One!!!! But when it tanks, uh-uh....we don't take that stuff seriously. WE LOVE U, JON!!!" uh....Gag. No offense, but their music means the world to me...idol worshippers with happy amnesia make me ill.

If the album didn't sell, that means no one wanted to buy it it. People like to spend their hard earned money of something of value, whether perceived or real. TLFR didn't accomplish either...it was 98% crapola. And people not forking over their hard earned money should send a resounding message to the band. (hell, JBJ even said on NBC that people weren't gonna buy it.)

Does it matter if an album is a commercial success?? It won't make me like the band any less or more with how many albums they sell.

Very good point, Tash....art is cool that way. One person's embracement is another's replusiveness.

But, do you think there is a direct correlation between the number of albums sold and how well the music is being valued by the fans/buying-public-at-large?

Not too sure about how the fans work, can only go on myself. Of course there will always be aspects of the band that I don't like, but I like them as a whole. As this is a Bon Jovi production, I will buy it, just to add to my collection and there are a few songs on it that I do like. I guess I hope they will have something the next time that I like more.
Of course commercial success does have an impact on how the public and critics perceive them, but I'm sure that there are people who became a fan from TLFR.. there will always be something for someone!
