That would be the smart thing, I agree. But AI caters to the common music listener, who know hit singles, for the most part. Let's hope these contestants do some great album tracks. I hope at least one of them do a "These Days" or "Keep The Faith" track. I think I'd lose my mind if one of them attempted "I Want You". LOL

I must say, I was worried that Phil Stacy wouldn't make it to this week. He is my favourite of the guys, and the one who will do the most justice to a BJ song. As for losing Sanjaya, it's too bad, because it would have been funny to watch him ruin Bon Jovi. And to get Jon's reaction to this kid.

Losing Gina before BJ week really pissed me off too. I figured out of all of them, she's appreciate being mentored by Jon the most. I didn't want to see Jon and Richie coaching a group of R&B divas...LOL

You're right about Gina, as per this interview snippet:

If there is anything "American Idol" finalist Gina Glocksen regrets about being booted from the show last week, it's missing the chance to meet Jon Bon Jovi, guest coach on rock star week later in the competition.

"I was going to sing 'Living on a Prayer' [for that week]" said the 22-year-old, this season's resident rocker, in a recent conference call. "That would have been great. But [I believe] everything happens for a reason."

I say if they're smart, they'll pick pick some of the lesser known songs or alter the arrangements. None of the guys have the power in their voices that Jon does. The girls are better singers, but the classic Bon Jovi styles might not work for them. The contestants do have some leverage to alter styles.

One thing I know, it's really hard to cover a Jovi song.

LOL...I love your passion.

They're not quite talentless, besides Sanjaya. But they are no way near the caliber of charismatic rock icon that Jon is, and they never could me. It takes a really special person to be that.
