Tommy and Gina

Hi!

Does anyone know who Tommy and Gina are? i think bon jovi mentions them in 'it's my life' and 'livin' on a prayer'. they seem to be going though a ruth patch in there relationship!

I think I read some where, that Jon and Richie was inspired to write the song because they knew some couples... And then they gave them their name: Tommy and Gina...

Tommy and Gina are based on a couple who Jon knew (if I remember correctly).. "Tommy" had to get a job and such when his girlfriend got pregnant and everything. (Isn't that it? My memory is clouded)

Tommy and Gina are one of many Bon Jovi trademarks. They are also mentioned on the New Jersey album.

Tommy and Gina are a fictional couple based on a lot of people Jon used to know. They appear in Livin' On A Prayer, It's My Life, and 99 In The Shade

They are based on a specific couple with elements of other couples thrown in. Gina got pregnant right after high school and Tommy had to give up a baseball scholarship to get married, get a job, and support a family. Jon has said that he's seen the original Tommy and that they have 3 kids and that they're still together. Gina's original name was Antonette.

I think Born to be my Baby and Lie to Me are based on Tommy and Gina as well, but their's names ain't mentioned in the songs. I read this when Jon was reviewing every song on each album in some magazine

Thank goodness they changed it. I can just imagine: "Antonette works the diner all day......."

This question must have been asked a hundred times. I also asked it at the old Msg board. As far as I can remember someone there wrote that Love is war also belongs to the Tommy & Gina story.
PS: Becky, where have you found their real names???
