"Tonite (Lift Me Up)", the videoclip we'll never see

I follow Aldo Nova on Facebook and sometimes he comes up with some interesting stories or comments about Bon Jovi and Jon in particular.
He's just shared this story about how "Tonite (Lift Me Up)" was supposed to be the first single out of his 1985 album "Twitch" and the script for its videoclip saw Diane Lane in the role of Aldo Nova's girlfriend and Jon as the guy who she was cheating him with. The record company decided to release another single last minute, the director wanted to keep the same script (WTF?) and so he just went with another director and the result turned out to be a little cheap and not exactly a dream video.
He also says something about hooking up with Diane Lane, but I don't get whether he means he was dating her at the time or he was the one who made her and Jon hook up (I think the latter).

A little trivia about the video for "Rumours of You"
Well this video has a lot of things about it that not very many people but me know.But now so will you.
First of all it wasn't supposed to be the first single off my twitch album,Toniye(Lift me Up) was supposed to be.
The record company had hired famous video director Bob Giraldi for the shoot.For those of you who don't know the name,he was the guy who had directed Michael Jackon's "Beat It" video which made Bob quite the hot commodity at the time.
So he writes a script for Tonite and in the video,since I was friends with both Jon Bon jovi and Diane lane,(Who I had hooked up at the time),I had asked them to both appear as characters in the video,which they both accepted.
Anyhow the script was about some diner where i was outside seeing my girlfriend(Diane) cheting on me with another guy(Jon).
One week before the shoot the record company decides to change songs and go with Rumours of you.
I am going ballistic at this point,since i thought at the time that Rumours was pretty lame.Not for a supposed rocker.
Anyway they make the choice and i meet with bob giraldi again and ask him what's the new script,and he goes,"No change we use the same script.
Boy you can bet the record company got an earful !!!!!!!!
So we decided to go with a fashion photographer who had never directed a video before and i decided to go along.
The script was Ok but I don't come off as too credible,face it,I'm a musician not an actor!!!!!Some of us know our limitations,hint hint(Jon Bon Jovi)HAHAHAHA(LOL)
If you notice in the video the girl that does the vocal part,doesn't really know how to speak English,let alone lip-synch.The actual recorded vocal was done by Fiona Flanagan,but the girl in the video was Argentinian and they can't pronounce B's.So if you pay close attention,when she sings the word believe,she actually goes Velieve.
It was also the first time that the spinning guitar trick was ever used in a video.
You know with Hindsight,I should have stuck with Bob giraldi and that original script,'cause this video,compared to all my other videos,doesn't quite cut it.

Twitch is a pretty marvellous 80s album and now I'm gonna have to go in the loft to get it out.(the cd that is.....

I have enjoyed Aldo's music for years and I think it's a crime that a voice like that never got the acclaim that he deserved
