Mtv has once again proved how stupid they are...

Looks a pretty balanced list to me.

Despite being a Jovi fan I will probably not vote for them as there are much better bands on the list that produce(d) quality music consistently...GNR, Clash, U2, Chilli Peppers and Nirvana to name a few.

I don't understand the problem with bands like Backstreet Boys and Limp being on there as they are very popular with people of their generation. Don't forget when Jovi hit the scene and started winning awards people considered them being on award lists as a joke because they were new and didn't fit in with what people then considered 'proper music' at the time.

Only because you don't like something dosen't mean to say it is no good and I'm sure the people voting for the likes of Limp and Linkin' will look at the list and snigger about Aerosmith and Jovi being on there because they have been around forever and are now considered 'has beens' by many.

I don't even know if bon jovi should be on that list! I don't think that MTV are the right persons to do that kind of examine, what kind of people watch mtv? kids between 9 and 17, they don't know a shit about music and what artist that should be on the list of the 22 best bands ever. (i don't saý that I do either...)

It's a blasphemy to place Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band on the same list as Nsync and limp bizkit!

their is at least 15 other bands that should have been at that list instead of the artist that are listed (with some exceptions...).

we you are doing a examination about "the greatest band" you can't just put artist that are popular on it! thats why i don't think bon jovi should be on that list...

They appear to have replaced a large number of great bands with a large number of S.H.I.T ones!!! Maybe they've got sea monkeys working down at MTV HQ these days......

I think Bon Jovi deserves to be on the list. Bon Jovi wasn't put on there just because they are popular. Look at everything they have accomplished. They were the biggest band in the world in their heyday and even now they are still going strong. They are the only band popular back then that are still around now. Where is Poison or Motley Crue or even Def Leppard? Def Lep made a bit of a comback, but then dropped off the radar again almost right away. Few bands have bragging rights that they can STILL sell out stadiums after 20 years.

The Backstreet Boys and NSync don't deserve to be up there because, yes, they were quite popular, but one of the greatest bands? Hardly. The Backstreet Boys aren't even together anymore, are they??? What does that say about how "great" they are? I think it's insulting to put them in with Bon Jovi and Aerosmith.

I also don't think Limp Bizkit, Dave Mathews and such shouldn't really be nominated either, because, and no offense to their fans, but no matter how popular they are, I don't think they have proven their mettle yet. You can't compare bands like Aerosmith, AC/DC and The Clash to Dave Mathews and Limp Bizkit. They haven't proven to me that they have what it takes to go down in history as sone of the greatest bands.

But then again, this is just my humble opinion.
