You try singing it and tell me how difficult you find it. I'd also direct you to the one and only time they have performed this song live (in Quebec '93) and, despite this being around the widely agreed high point in Jon's vocal career, listen to how drastically he has to change his singing style to pull it off. There are none of the sustained high notes in it at all.

So yes, I'm being 100% serious. They dumped 'I Believe' because he couldn't sing it any more and even that has made a comeback and was sung regularly on the KTF Tour so he didn't struggle with that too much during the early 90s. 'If I Was Your Mother' is a completely different ball game though.

Keep On Rockin'
i agree with you on "something to believe in"
i also have my personal Vocals favorites among all Bon Jovi Songs

"Fear" --fantastic bridge just listen to it, i still cant believe how wonderful is Jon`s voice on "Fear"

"dry county"--nothing to say fantastic when he sang the bridge before the chorus too

"Ill be there for you" ---the outro of the song great "uo o o ,uo o o o"

"Always"--Superb vocals

"Santa Fe" ---probably the best song by Jon ever

there's quite a few amazing album vocals from jon but these are probably amongst the best:

Santa Fe
Something to Believe in
Lay Your Hands On Me
Wanted
Dry County
I'll be There for You
Blood On Blood
Wild is the Wind
I Believe
Always

could go on for ages really...

but there's a few
