Crush has been one of the albums I never really got into. It has it's moments and during the last year I really developped a love for IML again after skipping the song for like forever.

Say It Isn't So and Captain Crash are 2 songs I find actually quite nice on the record but they were/are awful live.

And I never really got the big love for Next 100 Years - yeah Richie puts out a great solo, but besides that the song never got me. But I guess thats just the issue with Crush - it goes in so many directions that every track has lovers and haters.

Crush is my favourite album. It was the first studio record I got and I remember myself listening to it through the whole summer of 2001. I was in Barnstape in June 2001 with school and on the way back on ferry I bought an audio cassette Crush. I still have it. Great memories. I turned 24 yesterday, so it is 12 years back, half of my life. Can you see it? Half of my life obsessed with Bon Jovi So this is album will always be special to me. One of the classics for me.
Some of the choices were quite tough because from Thank You For Loving Me to Say It Isn't So the songs are quite equal for me. It's My Life is the one and only leader, it got me into Bon Jovi and into music as general.

As I've espoused a million times on this board, I love Crush. It's not my #1 Bon Jovi record, but it's honestly my most listened to. Outside of She's A Mystery, there's not a bad track on it IMO, so this is a really hard list to rank for me, outside of the top and bottom spots. (NOTE: I'm not including the bonus tracks.)

Crush is without doubt the best 2000 album, and that's because it's so damn smooth. You can still feel that they are creative. For me Crush is better than SWW. That says a lot about my love for Crush, it's probably the album I listen to most.
Though I have to say that ICMALOOLY is probably the worst shit BJ have written. The lyrics makes me feel sick. and Next 100 Years is terrible overrated. Sure, the solo is great, and many times when people hail the song they only talks about the solo, not the actual song.
Great album, more Crush songs in the set. My dream is still for SIIS to return to the set list.

It's not the most favourite album. It's not no.1, that is New Jersey of course. However, I just love Crush for reasons stated above

Other than next 100 years I question whether Sambora plugged his guitar in when recording the album.

One if his laziest albums.

I just feel the album is loved by new Jovi fans. Am I wrong?

Are there many old school fans - like me age wise- who like it?

On the way back from the Long Island gig last year, Deb, Bryan, (I think it was us three, let me know if I'm dropping you guys into a convo we didn't have.) and I had a conversation about just that subject. I don't think it's entirely an age thing, as much as it's what other kinds of music one enjoys. Crush is tied with Slippery as the pure-poppiest (for their time) Jovi release. Obviously SWW is an 80's rock record, but Crush is basically pure pop-rock, with some pop-punk and Brit-pop sprinkled in. So if one likes those elements, I think they'd like Crush.

Being my CD only contains 12 tracks, i decided to exclude the bottom two. Perhaps they're better than some other tracks i've ranked above them, but even so, i've never understood some fans fascination over either one.

Also, I probably rank Captain Crash higher than most. I love it. Always have, and always will. I've often had trouble understanding the hate it sometimes receives on these boards. Of course, there are others like myself that do enjoy it. I will agree that it's quite overplayed. Perhaps if it only popped up every 5 shows it wouldn't be as vilified as it is.

Two Story Town: When i first discovered Bon Jovi i loved this song. Crush had just been released, though it wasn't aware of that fact, and it along with Slippery were the 2 BJ albums owned by my household. At that time, i'd have to say it was in my top 5 amongst those 22 tracks. Somewhere along the way however my opinion of it dipped dramatically, so much so that i often skip over it.
