This album could have been better with all those songs that were left out or made it as bonus tracks.

15. Have A Nice Day - This song is a great anthem, like it a lot, especially live! I think it's their last big hit here in Europe. At least in Italy.
14. Dirty Little Secret - It should have been released as the second single.
13. I Am - A very nice song.
12. Last Man Standing
11. Novocaine - Good lyrics, but I don't like a lot the sound.
10. Bells Of Freedom
09. These Open Arms
08. Unbreakable
07. I Want To Be Loved
06. Complicated
05. Story Of My Life
04. Who Says You Can't Go Home
03. Welcome To Wherever You Are
01. Last Cigarette
00. Wildflower

I think it's less about the country version, or the song itself, and more about what the success of the country version lead to: LH, a record many don't for, and WSYCGH being an every night staple, and treated as YGLABN/LOAP level hit.

Like I've said before, the hate for Last Cigarette on these boards baffles me.

I share this feeling.

The title track is a great song, I just prefer the live version. With a rougher production I would rank it 2nd best.

"Complicated" has always been a secret favourite of mine, I love the lyrics and anrgy energy behind it (wouldn't mind a rougher production, too). And yes, it's a terrible IML clone, but I can't help it.

LMS and "Novocaine" are masterpieces.

As much as I hate WSYCGH live, in the context of the album it still works for me.

15. Last Man Standing
14. Novocaine
13. Complicated
12. Have A Nice Day
11. I Want To Be Loved
10. Dirty Little Secret
09. Unbreakable
08. Story Of My Life
07. Bells Of Freedom
06. Last Cigarette
05. Who Says You Can't Go Home
04. Welcome To Wherever You Are
03. These Open Arms
02. I Am
01. Wildflower

Yeah, I don't get it too.
No idea why people hate the country version of WSYCGH so much: I really like it.

I love this album! Not to say it doesn't have its weak spots. It is really heavy on the IML formula... one of which is Complicated that is one of the silliest Bon Jovi songs but it is still listenable. WTWYA means a lot to some people, and I mean no disrespect to them, but to me it is just surface level cheese... but again, not a bad song. The biggest surprise on the album is Bells of Freedom. I expected it to be pretty bad, but to my surprise I really enjoyed it and still do.
I know this opinion is unpopular around here but I just don't like LMS. The lyrics are spot on, but I just could never get it into it. I suppose I like the HAND version better than the TLFR version. But I'd be interested in hearing a way stripped down version. Maybe just an acoustic, piano, Jon and Richie... without the big harmony.
The biggest weakness is a song that didn't even make the album but Unbreakable, just having been associated with HAND makes the album drop a couple points. It was the last "Bon Jovi" album IMO. Like every album since Crush, I think this album could have benefited from a different track order. I think the b-side is sooo much better than the first half. Novocaine, Last Cigarette, Story of My Life, and I Am is exactly the direction the band should be going. Great songs!..which are what make the album great. Anyway here it goes:

15 pts - I AM
14 Novocaine
13 Last Cigarette
12 Story of My Life
11 I Want To Be Loved
10 Dirty Little Secret
9 These Open Arms
8 Have a Nice Day
7 Bells of Freedom
6 Welcome to Wherever You Are
5 Last man Standing
4 Complicated
3 Who Says
2 Wildflower
0 Unbreakable

He mentions the TLFR version. He wants it even more stripped down.

On a random note: I heard "Welcome To Wherever You Are" on the radio yesterday. Realized again that the song is rather weak and not what I expect from Bon Jovi.
