Wow. The album I lost my virginty to at the ripe old age of 14.
2nd best album only to New Jersey.
How Edge Of A Broken Heart didnt make this album instead of Social Disease I just dont know. It would be my number 2 maybe number 1 track of SWW if it had made it. Such a shame it didnt.
Prayer is so low because its played to death. Even at weddings and in clubs - there will be dance songs on and then this will drop and it really fooks me off.
I think Id Die For You is Samboras best early guitar solo (along with BTBMB) and Riff.
Truely life changing album for them and me!
Wanted - I just love that song - no matter where I am and that song comes on the radio - i crank it up full blast. Lets face it, we're all cowboys!

I agree with steel_horse75 here that the omission of Edge of a Broken Heart from SWW was a huge mistake and would have made this album perfect in my view. Prayer, though a great song has become very diluted for me and gets skipped quite often now, you just hear it everywhere. You have to give it huge credit though for being the 1 song that all non BJ fans know & love. You just can't help but love this album with strong tracks such as Wanted, YGLABN & NSG.

Even though I'm much younger than many people here, SWW was my first Jovi album as well nearly 11 years ago, and tha one that got me into this band. Currently it sits as my third favorite, behind NJ and KTF.

Some quick thoughts:
-I honestly don't care how overplayed it is, LOAP is up there with KTF and TD as the single best song this band as ever recorded. It's sonic perfection all the way around.
-NSG is the best Bon Jovi ballad IMO.
-Wanted is a great track, but I feel about it the way many of you seem to feel about Prayer, RE: overplayed.
-IDFY, WITS, YGLABN, and RYH all fall into the same ground for me, and their rankings are somewhat interchangeable. Basically not as good the Top 3, but still really good songs.
-I've never been a fan of LIR to be honest. It's not bad, but just eh to me.
-Without Love does nothing to me, and Social Disease is the ABSOLUTE WORST Bon Jovi song ever. How these two tracks made the album over Edge of A Broken Heart still mystifies me.

SWW is hard for me to rank. As the years have gone by I have certainly grown to appreciate New Jersey more, but I do realize we wouldn't have had NJ without SWW. They basically took what they learned with SWW and made a volume II. I also feel that 2 of the 3 big songs from this album have lost their magic when performed live... which unfairly reflects poorly on the album, but I will give Wanted it's due in the rankings.
SWW is a really good album. It plays well from front to back (probably better than NJ). There is not a song I'd skip (besides Bad Name), but also few I am passionate about... thus making it hard to rank.

And really, i love Wild In The Street & even Social Disease. I mean, I feel as if Social Disease could have easily been omitted in favor of Edge of a Broken Heart, but that might have been too much awesome for one album.

The album that made me a fan of the band - though it was 17 years after it's release! It has a great flow and a special place in my heart - therefore it always battles with NJ for the best 80's record, though NJ basically has the more "matured" songs on it.
By far and forever my number 1 is Wanted - the song, the mood, the video for - all perfect! I'd Die For You comes in 2nd, where it has stayed for 9 years now as well.
Over the years Bad Name fell quite flat on me, maybe because it's so overplayed. The bottom 3 songs are interchangeable, I don't care much about them...Without Love grabs me from time to time though.
I personally can't get the hype for Edge of a Broken Heart - yes it's better than the bottom 2 or 3, but I personally would have loved to see Borderline on the album - if it's just for the keyboard part in the chorus

Which 2 would you say? I'd say Bad Name and Wanted have lost some of their magic, but Prayer is still a barnburner.

But Prayer, too, has lost lots of power.
