This is totally the wrong thread but I follow your posts and you love the 80s output. How do you feel about two 90s albums?

So many people are saying that the big three are overplayed. I totally agree on a large scale, however on my local radio stations the most I ever hear Bon Jovi being played is Prayer about once a month.

If I had never joined JT, I would have said that the big three aren't/weren't played enough! Goes to show how differently areas view bands like BJ - my local station obviously sees them as 80's nostalgia.

I can't speak for everyone but when i say they are over played, I mean by them. Not only do we see them at every show but mainly it's when they are promoting a new album. You will hear Bad Name on SNL or Wanted on the Today show.

On that note I hear Bad Name as much as I hear Prayer on the radio here. But rarely do I hear Wanted. Strangely enough, I will hear Never Say Goodbye occasionally. Not going to lie, I always get a little excited when that happens.

At my school in the cafeteria, there's a radio back where all the lunch ladies work and often times when I can hear it, It's My Life and Never Say Goodbye come on very frequently, which is strange because the rest of the music I hear on that station seems to be very much pop and/or country.

A stalker ?? Haha!!
Yes I'm a massive fan of their 80s stuff.
I'm a fan of 80s rock/metal in general but Jovi were the best rock band in 80s by far and that's thanks to SWW, NJ and the massive tours that went with the albums.
The 90s albums?

KTF? I really like 3/4 of it. It was a great comeback album and it needed to be. It was make or break time for the band. I dislike WIL, BIOTLORAR, IWY but love IB, KTF, DC, SAP and LBOS

These Days is ok but it's too miserable. I personally don't like Bon Jovi moody. I get and want that from other bands. TD has far too many slow songs on for me. it's so far removed from the sound I love from them.
Also after Always they just seemed to flood their album with slower songs.

The 80s is where they hit an unreachable and unsustainable peak in terms of quality.

10. Wanted Dead Or Alive
9. Livin' On A Prayer
8. You Give Love A Bad Name
7. I'd Die For You
6. Never Say Goodbye
5. Let It Rock
4. Raise Your Hands
3. Wild In The Streets
2. Without Love
1. Social Disease

Not much I can say about this album that hasn't been said already ... it's the moment that the band defined their sound, and developed the songwriting skills to back up their musical ability. It's a little inconsistent and definitely lacks the maturity and hardness of New Jersey, but Slippery When Wet is basically the album that defines being young ... sure, you've got money troubles, love's not always smooth sailing and sometimes you have to ride that steel horse away from your home. But when it comes down to it, life is really about going wild in the streets, raising your hands, letting it rock, and living for the fight ... and what young person can't relate to that?

Prayer never gets old to me, either studio or live. I know I'm in the minority there, but it's true. Even after 19 shows, I would be disappointed if it wasn't played.

Haha!

Just wondering because there does seem to be a few who are more favourable towards 80s output and those who prefer the 90s albums. I am the latter myself, but it's always interesting to get the other perspective. While I can't look past 'These Days' as the best album, I would put 'New Jersey' as joint second favourite along with '7800' (extremely weird but I love that album).
