"Strange... A few weeks ago Jon appeared in a Vote Gore T-shirt at a concert and now he allows a great song to be used as Bush/war propaganda s h i t? I don't get it."
That is all well and good, but, well...impaling a man's head on a stake is a far cry from being at political odds. Any rational person would have to agree with me here. It is unadulterated hate fused with the juvenile ignorance of humanity. It has little to do with THIS war, I can assure you.
Eddie Vedder is either the brat on the playground who bullied and complained about all the kids who couldn't defend themselves, or the poor kid who never got any respect and chooses grow up in intellectual poverty. Yes. It is a choice. He is no politician and most certainly a singularly self gratifying juvenile who has probably researched more than one side of a story NEVER in his life.
Yeah, he has written some truly beautiful and inspired lyrics for some of his songs, but nowhere do I see any political credentials under his belt. I see a rich rock star who has everything he needs and wants and still manages to remain destainful of everything. He grunts and groans and stares into his shoes with clenched fists. He 'knows' the truth behind the network of corruption which infests his country and has been critical of it his entire life.
And yet he has no answers.
Only the shouts of from the drunk fans out for a good concert. Yeah, what a great guage for your night after night political inauguration, Eddie.
Only the uneducated hate. Because that would spoil his useless shenanigans and make him more irrelivent and useless than he already is, which he so desparately fears, but which is now inevitable. The more "intimite" venues he will play in the future will no longer be by choice, I assure you.
Only the money and wealth and fame which he claims to dispise in others, who, of course use it improperly, while remains an aesthete in its purist form.
Jon does not dilute his mind with ideas of grandure
Jon is able to reach a higher quality audience because he is does not dilute his talent with politics and still get his message crystal clearly.
The only "shock and awe" (excuse the glorious pun here) compaign Bon Jovi needs is a fantastic show with fantastic music which draws a much higher caliber audience than that of a Pearl Jam show. He does not need to artificially work them up over issues of which music is not the focus. He is an entertainer, and Eddie Vedder is a jackass who believes his viewpoint is the one and only and therefore must be yours as well or you will be burned (or impaled, as it were) at the stake. Sorry
Grow up, Eddie boy, time to temper down the tantrums and do something with your life, maybe learn something and not rely on your gift for music as an ruse for a political campaign on dimwittery.
Jon has carved out meticulously (as we all should) his own viewpoints on issues, but not others' viewpoints. He is not that self absorbed. Such a gang-style drive-by act of the Eddie Vedder magnitude is far beneath his taste, tact, and intelligence.
And Jon has consistantly dedicated The Distance to the troops every night at his shows. A nonpolitical heartfelt statement, the words of a man who is not a politician (YET

, but a man who at least understands the morals of human decency and respect. Though I have not heard the mix, it seems like these are the goals and therefore I don't see why Jon would be too offended by it.
So, in the pithy and overly simplistic words of The Man himself
"**** You" Eddie boy. Keep staring at your shoes, I am looking to the stars.
Uggh, got a wild rant headache now and I need some Cheetos.
Where's the latest Pearl Jam CD, that outta put me right out of my misery.
Night
