I agree with Mike! We are all allowed to have an opinion - it doesn't mean that we are disloyal fans or that we are no better than those who praise evrything the band does! I have been a BJ fan since the 80's and over that period I can't say that I have always agreed with the things they have said and done. I haven't liked some of the songs they've released or the fact that they haven't done a full blown tour of Australia in some years. Maybe I'm just living in the New Jersey days wishing that every album was as complete as it was. Thats just my opinion - but I will always support them by buying their albums, the singles, the videos, the concert tickets etc because I am a fan. My allegiance to the band will continue forever!!! I am allowed an opinion though - its my god given right!

One of the things I like about this board is that for the most part we can discuss the music intelligently and in more depth than some of the other boards. Jon's voice is an instrument and I think the discussion for the most part was interesting and not overly critical. Personally I love his voice on Bounce and I think it has improved since Crush for sure. I do hope he is taking care of it for the long tour ahead . I think he sounded fantastic at Times Square. It is different from the old days but different does not have to mean worse- as you get older you just don't have the same range and that is true of everyone.

Does beeing a true fan mean that you are not allowed to have an opinion? If so I'm not a true fan and absolutely glad about it. I don't praise the guys, they are no Gods or something. Just a few guys who make music that I like. So I'm not a true fan? Fine. I don't want to be a "true fan" if it means to live and die only for the band and to not questioning anything regarding them.

I don't think it's simply "black or white", Sambochris, i'm agree we can have opinions and talk about anything we want about the band, in any case if people replies... it's just proove that it's right topic ! BUT, Jon's voice is not for me a good one, we can ask questions sometimes on health, or wathever on the band, but if it's to criticize on a hot subject as Jon's voice ... well for me, no doubt : i love his voice, and he can be tired sometimes or just have little problems as so much singers, but if someone says is a fan and in the same time thinks Jon's voice is not so good after all, i can ask to myself if he's a real fan ... Or if someone decide one day, "oh i'm a fan of this band but the guitarist is really bad now, he had his time but it's time for him to leave", you know what i mean ??? For me these people don't have to say they are fans, they love the band or a part or some songs ... I'm fan and i love everything in BJ, and that doesn't mean for me live or die for BJ !

Hey dose this mean I wont get called a non fan if I make more negative comments about Jon? Oh here's a positve one: I like Jons new clothing style, It's alot better than the crush era, he has gone back to the Keep the faith/These days style {jeans and t-shirt}. Riche must have influnce Jon on this look. lol

Lets not turn this into an issue - True Fan discussions just aren't worth discussing (unless it includes ppl living in Sheffield, but supporting Arsenal ).

FYI the topic in question is actually of a positive nature & no-one is saying they don't like Jons voice, some are just observing that they don't think its as strong as it once was, however has been getting better recently. U could say that makes them a fan for noticing

There is no such thing as "true fan", all of us on this board are "true fans" otherwise we wouldn't be here so there's no point in basing any arguments on being a "true fan" - it just won't work!

OMD, i can't believe i'm gonna say this but i agree with mike on this one.
it's the true fans that can admit that one concert isn't as good as another.
and not just say :"ooooooh everything is great!"
