And that quote is why I think Richie/the band are now hiding the rehab thing (if it's that). This is not aimed at you RS8MBOR8 but in general but I've been hearing that from so many, why don't they told, they told before. Maybe that is why they don't tell because it's happened so many times that this time, Richie wants to keep it to himself? Maybe he doesn't want it known anymore what he is going through. He just made a personal solo CD dealing with his addictions, problems etc. He could be in the mind frame of here I was giving interviews, on the road to recovery and now I've fallen again and it's not the first time? Could it be pride, embarrassment, now he really wants his privacy? I personally would not blame the guy if that is true. He has his demons, it's lifelong and his friends are dealing with it.

If they were off-tour, he can keep it as "personal" as he likes. The fact is though that this has happened mid-tour- thousands of people have been let down by this and deserve more of an explanation. They don't need every gruesome detail, but some indication as to what has, for a lot of people, ruined their experience.

But if their experience has been ruined, ok, give them back their money ! and thatīs all.

If Richie tomorrow says "Hey ! I got this or that kind of disease/problem", that will make the fans expereience not be ruined ?
Like The Rock sayied, maybe his problem embarrass him self.

It will still be ruined because he won't be at the gigs I'm going to, but we personally have spent Ģ1000 on Jovi gigs this summer, and frankly feel "personal reasons" just doesn't cut it when we've spent such a large sum of money.

I make no apologies for demanding some clarity- these gigs are our 'holiday' this year, and I want to know why we're now facing this disappointment. I'm not asking for every little detail, but A reason. Tell me if it's illness, if its rehab, if he's fallen out with Jon, whatever. I don't need more than that, but an actual, proper reason will help me and others come to some kind if conclusion. The worst thing for me is that I don't know if I'm supposed to be angry or understanding.

And in all honesty, the more I see posts like yours bleating about "privacy" the more pissed off I get. Now, I'm not suggesting these guys can't have "privacy" but when they are in the position they are in- where people who have supported them for many years and invested so much emotion into them, who collectively have spent millions and millions of pounds/dollars/euros/whatever on tickets and albums- when those people, those fans, receive a slap in the face like this one, regardless of fault, those fans deserve a proper explanation. That band have a responsibility to the fans who put them where they are, and if that means foregoing a fraction of that "privacy" to meet that responsibility then so be it.

That is not some sense of selfish entitlement talking, that is a fan of many years talking who feels his loyalty is being pushed to the extremes due to the piss-poor management of this situation.

If everyone harasses him through Twitter, he'll probably just shut down his Twitter account. I'm not saying don't do it. I'm just saying it might backfire.

I would agree with this. Hounding him is not the way to go and if he is in a pretty low place, it's also the last thing he would need.

Ok, I donīt agree with you but I really understand what are you feeling. Itīs good to share different opinions.

For me, the official explanations (at twitter, website, interviews, at gigs) are enough.
