Maybe this doesn't make much sense but methinks Bon Jovi should become a bit more selfish when it comes to their shows. They should stop thinking about what will please most people in the audience and play to only please themselves.
I agree. Bon Jovi plays their more well know songs and hits because that is what the everyday Jovi fan whats to hear. I also think they need to loosen up and play their rarities and change out the setlists more. I think it would be nice to let the everyday Jovi fan hear songs that they are not familiar with. Who knows, maybe they will become diehard fans as well once they discover more Jovi rather than the hits and well known songs. I think if Jovi would play for themselves more, loosen up and not just thinking of the everyday fan, they would have a better stage performance overall. Not to say it is not good, cause they are still the best live act I've seen, but I think they have the potential to give a mindblowing performance. I know they could improve because they have the talent and the balls, but they need to act on it. Bon Jovi does a lot to please thier everyday run-of-the-mill fans, but not much for the die-hards like us who want to see them use thier talent to its full potential.

Maybe they don't have too much faith in their other than hits songs. That's too bad. Our boys (esp. Jon) just look confident but in real life they are anything but.

I'm certianly hoping that the box set (if it does finally include all these songs that we've never heard, etc.) will bring the band to realise that we want to hear different songs on live shows. That is if it's a success.

I don't think they'll tour with the boxset. Guess we never hear those songs live!

Yeah I think BJ should should be more selective with their sets... I havn't seen them live but from what I know of, they should play some of their lesser known songs... The first two albums are going to waste

Am I the only one who thinks Metallica are a little bit overatted. I've seen the live and they were great and all, but from what I've heard they tend to repeat a bit with their music.

You can't compare them with BJ cause they are different types of bands. The thing I prefer about BJ though, is that their musis is more than just heavy guitars, drums, bass and shouty vocals (which seems to be what a lot of Metallica songs are)... With BJ its often hard to keep track of what all the instuments are doing and the music is more vibrant. I think musically, BJ are more diverse and more capable.

I like Metallica but I can't see whats so special about them when there are lots of metal bands that are doing the same thing and sound like them. I think some people should accept that BJ are not a metal band and cut them some slack for not choosing to rely on heavy guitars for their sound. You can't put BJ into a single category... but Metallica you pretty much can.

Both great bands but I hate when people say BJ suck and rave about Metallica when they are different types of music and BJ have their own qualities.

Guess that is why the Black album is Metallica I like and St Anger sounds like discordant junk. But I do confess not to be much of a Metallica or heavy metal fan so what do I know.

Personally I think the Black album is one of Rocks best. Sandman and Unforgiven are 2 of my all time favorite Rock songs. IMO of course
