Looking to collect some bootlegs.

What are the 5 ultimate BJ shows I should be looking for?

Both in terms of audio (and video if there rae DVDs out) and performance (i.e what songs and how good the show was)?

Haven't sound anything spectacular for this tour yet - hopefulyl someone will put up one of the UK tours soon!

Thanks

Yokohama, Japan 1996. There's a pro-shot video.

The rest can be debated, but that's a good place to start.

Default ultimate bon jovi

I had an audio recording of a charity show that jovi did i think in 89,or90 at hammersmith odeon.jon and richie started off with 3 acoustic songs and did a three hour set with the rest of the band plus guest app.from jimmy page and others. i,m pretty sure they sang "we all sleep alone" which they wrote for cher and loads of their own plus other covers.although it was an audience recording the sound was perfect, and this was before digital!

VIDEO:
Dortmund 1993 - shot from the audience. An amazing concert with an amazing performance of Dry County and Never Say Goodbye played with a fan who in the end says **** GUNS N' ROSES!

CHILE 1989 - I just love the wild crowd and the set was quite nice too.

Audio:
no idea...anything before Crush era will do it

have to agree, the hammersmith appollo gig for the NORDOFF ROBBINS charity was awsome, it was broadcast on BBC radio 1 and segments appear on the ACCESS all AREAS video, i really wish i could get hold of that gig again, they even did social disease. and jons intro to livin on a prayer was cool too. I think it really put BON JOVI on the map as being more than a big hair pretty boy rock band. that show oozed talent.

If you can get the complete Live From London '95 show I'd suggest that one. A lot of songs are cut out on the video.

(cue me on the big screen) JBJ: "How good have you been? Oh My God!" (laughs, more teasing) JBJ: "You want it huh, you want it huh? Blood on Blood just for you, the good girl in the front row? The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

Best performances:

- Milan, Italy 1993

- London, Wembley Stadium 3rd night 1995 (you can find easily the entire concert with soundboard quality)

- Johannesburg, South Africa 1995

- Albany, New York, USA 2001

But, if you're looking for a concert with high quality of recording, try to find Yokohama, Japan 1996... btw it has a excellent set list and a good performance

London '95 audio is just about the best audio u'll get, both in terms of quality and the actual gig itself.

Cinncinatti '87 audio is good too.

Hammersmith '90 is brilliant (as already mentioned!)

I also like Osaka '91 audio/video, only the second ever performance of cadillac man (hammersmith '90 being the first!!).

Milton keynes '89 audio is fantastic.

Yokohama '96 video is great (esp if u r a these days fan!)

The Toronto audio (21st jan) from this tour is quite good I think.

I'm sure I'll think of more!

Tokyo 95 (au)

These days tour:

Giants 01 (sb)
Cologne 01 (au)

Bounce tour:
London 02 (sb)
Hyde Park 03 (au)
Yokohama 03 (au)

Borgata shows:
TLFR (dvd sb)
Box set show (sb)

HAND-tour:
All of the Japan 06 shows are excellent audience recordings
Atlanta 06 (au)
Amsterdam 05 (sb-but only because it's soundboard)
Atlantic City 06 (au)
Toronto 06 (1st night) au
Philadelphia 06 (2nd night) au

solo gigs

JBJ:
London 97 (sb/au mix)
Paris 97 (sb)

Richie sambora:
San Diego 1992 (sb)
Hamburg 1998 (au)

most of these shows have good to great setlists, athmosphere and/or excellent perfromances.
Imho, these are the can't go wrong shows shows. There are better shows out there setlist-wise (like Yokohama 96 3rd night compared to the 2nd night), but for starters these are highly recommended to get a good overall impression of BJ live in good, very listenable quality
