The sound isn't the greatest, I spent a lot of time cleaning it up back in 2014:

There the missing part fades into the audience version and back to the SBD one.

7.5
Lay Your Hands On Me, You Give Love A Bad Name, Born To Be My Baby (excellent quality, probably B-sides from singles)
I'd Die For You, Tokyo Road (cut) (from Japanese radio broadcast, decent quality)
I'll Be There For You, Runaway, Livin' On A Prayer (from "Jersey Mates" bootleg, okay-ish quality)

But I'm pretty certain that you have the 3 DVD set from Giants '89 where I had added all available SBD recordings as a 2nd audio track I remember it quite well since we had discussed some aspect ratio errors in VLC at some other place.

Thanks! And yes! I have it! I thought the SBD was one specific source, but there are various. I have those three first mentioned (lay, bad name, born...) in one folder, but I guess only Lay... was released as a b-side.

Now I'm pretty new to collecting soundboards and what-not, so if anyone could recommend what they consider to be the best version of a certain song (and preferably, how this recording can be obtained).

Obviously, this is a pretty big project so it would be great if this could be a collaborative effort. Hopefully, this thread can be a resource in the future to anyone looking for the best live recordings.

Thanks very much!!
You are proposing here for a good project but for me it is difficult to choose the best performance of a song when there are so many great variations over the years of it. There is also another problem, not all album songs have been played live.

Some time ago I did a project similar with some fans, but it was difficult to agree which was the best version of a specific song, since we loved different versions of different years.

Finally I did another project on my own, which is through the best sources of soundbard singles, bottleg of high quality, streaming ... a collection of the Best of every Tour. It's not a big deal, but sometimes it's good to hear a live performance in high quality sound.

But, a full show still seems the best way to listen to Bon Jovi live, with his rights and mistakes.

Runaway was a radio recording from a local Jersey station, WDHA. It's just a poor recording..

I agree, but I also like the idea of creating one huge live album from 1984-2017.

I've just finished getting the New Jersey songs, using Rokuli's post as a guide. Some of the recordings I have chosen are different to his because I either haven't been able to find the performance he has recommended or because I prefer another one. The performances I've chosen are:

01 LAY YOUR HANDS ON ME - Giants Stadium, NJ, 1989
02 BAD MEDICINE - Paris 1988
03 BORN TO BE MY BABY - Giants Stadium, NJ, 1989
04 LIVING IN SIN - Rotterdam 1989
05 BLOOD ON BLOOD - Rotterdam 1989
06 HOMEBOUND TRAIN - Stuttgart 1988
07 WILD IS THE WIND - Osaka 1991
08 RIDE COWBOY RIDE - Tokyo 1988
09 STICK TO YOUR GUNS - New York 1992
10 I'LL BE THERE FOR YOU - Lakeland 1989
11 99 IN THE SHADE - Stuttgart 1988
12 LOVE FOR SALE - Hamburg 1989
