I'd say that Richie is better than Slash. But Slash is the "dude with the hat and the hair from Guns N' Roses".

One thing I can say about Slash is that he's got a recognizable sound/style. I'm not comparing him to Richie, just commenting on Slash. I tuned in during the middle of a song on the radio and thought, "That sounds like Slash" and it turned out to be the new Velvet Revolver. So, for me (and I'd never paid much attention to guitar until recently) to be able to hear a guitarist and ID him was pretty cool. I hope someone at work will take me seriously since I told them I want the VR CD for Christmas.

Anyway, don't take this as me saying Slash is better than Richie because I honestly don't know or care or have an opinion on who's "better." I'm newly interested in guitar, but only know what I
like. I like both of their work.
