Undivided = the Kids aren't allright by the Offspring?

I am so fed up with people trying to find similarities with other songs. Give it a rest already. So what if a song sounds similar to another, I wouldn't care one bit as long as it's not a rip-off.

Do you really think that every song all the artists in the world write wont have occational similarities to one another? Please....

You know the working title of this song was One- can you imagine what the U2 fans would have had to say about that? And also there is a Creed song by that name as well. I am tired of comparing the songs on Bounce to other artists. The only one I would compare is Joey to Levon and I believe that was intentional.

I don't see what's wrong in saying song A is similar to song B. It's not like someone is screwing your momma or something, so it's a freedom of speech guys Just because two songs are similar doesn't mean the one that comes later is ripping the one before. Sometimes there's coincidence.

I gotta check out the Offspring song... afaik Undivided's chorus sounds like Tears Of The Dragon's chorus (by Bruce Dickinson).

In which way similar, lyric wise or tune? Lyric wise absolutely not. I havent heard the whole song so cannot comment on tune.

Hmm... Yeah, the chord sequence is the same, but Undivided is in the key of F (I think!) rather than G.

I found it very funny how many people replied on my topic The similarity between songs can become a heavy discussion
However, what's wrong with comparing one song with another song. I can understand that people might be influenced by a song and write their own version of it (which contains a sample of the original). With all songs that have been written, it must be very difficult to write something that is in no way similar to other songs.

Well, I think that almost every song on Bounce reminds me on some other song, but I don't mind. I think the strings in The Distance are very similar to the string arrangements on Neon Ballroom by Silverchair (esp. the song Emotion Sickness). The melody at the beginning of the stanza of All About Lovin' You reminds me on Roxette Vulnerable. Open All Night totally sounds like a song from the German singer Rolf Zukowski (who only sings songs for children).
But despite all the similarities I really love Bounce because the songs are great, no rip offs in there and I think that BJ really didn't mean to cover any song by the German children-songs performer Rolf Zukowski. lmao...Bounce ROCKS and that's the quintessential thing!!!!!!!!!
