I guess that would've worked only on the 2000/01 tours... now IML is a bit too overplayed to get that hype.

But I always thought it would make a nice intro, especially what you say of some wah-wah intros out of the blue, much like in the beginning of the IML video, before the actual song gets going.

I think "Bad name" should be nearer to the end of the show.
It would work closing the main set. Imagine the audience singing the end of it and then cut off the lights. Or it could work as opener for the encore. The energy would immediately be sky high.

I think Raise your Hands is the best opener they have ever used, but I do think that BPL would be a magnificent opener ... We all know that the reason why it was dropped was because the song was so overproduced on the album that they couldn't find a way to make it sound good live. I wound't mind if they used a backtrack to make it better live, just like they use in It's my life and HAND.

Like previously stated on this thread, the acoustic I'd Die 4 U is a fantastic closer. I witnessed it happen in Helsinki in 1996. A lot of people were allready leaving the stadium, unaware that the best was yet to come.

And I agree, BPL could have been a great TC tour opener. No matter how overproduced it obviously is. It could have worked just fine live, with a more down- to-earth approach to it. It is a very decent rock song.

I dno man. Even 10 years later IML sometimes gets the biggest response of the night. I always warn the first time people I bring to shows "It's gonna get loud" before it starts. Maybe it's just Toronto, a city that always goes absolutely apeshit for the band. I think they could open with IML.

I prefer them opening with something faster paced. LMS was great, wasn't crazy about LH opening. I'd love to experience RYH opening, it's got a great tempo.

IML usually gets the second biggest reaction at shows I've been to, only behind LOAP.
I still say that starting the show with it works on a lot of levels. Darkened arena, crowd juiced, hit the "Bwuam Bwuam" and the place would lose it. And not only does it get the crowd going with a huge hit, but the energy of the crowd would go a bit of the way in compensating for IML's live deficiencies IMO.

You're absolutely right. RYH, Bounce, LMS, LH, Captain Crash, Happy Now....forget about "are they good songs?", NONE of them were hits. IML would go over massive because everyone there knows it. LOAP goes over great but it's got such a slow intro. Kick off the show with a BAM BAM and everyone will freak.

Fast Cars with Jon out on the circle stage just high fiving the shit out of everyone thereduring the chorus and getting the crowd to sing those Shala shalas! Say what you want about the song, it would have been a great live tune, simple, short and straight to the point, such a shame they never gave it a shot. Bon Jovi just sucks with their decisions sometimes, they trully do suck the suckiest out of the sucky suck suck choices. their choices suck so much they should be called suckices, get it??

I would never move Bad Name from the 2/3 position. It's an easy early throwaway hit to get the casuals involved. It's never a highlight of the show, but it does its job superbly, and can then allow more flexibility with an opener.
Ideally, a new song from the current tour should open for the most part, then Bad Name kicks in to get everyone up to speed. RYH is great to open however and IML would work in arenas certainly.
