Yet I kind of like it. It’s stereotypical and a bit boring but I enjoy listening to it every now and then.

I've gone back and forth on this. The chorus of AALY's chord structure of G, BM, C, Cm, while not horribly original, so closely matches Never Say Goodbye's chorus chords. Lyrically "Looking at the pages of my life" screams a line Richie would write. Always thought it was funny "We've been around that block a time or two" was used in two separate Bounce songs.

The rest of it is so forgettable that it feels by the numbers. I Love that bridge though.

Cool. I never realized the similarity to NSG. Now that you say it, it’s quite obvious. And you may be right about those lines also.
Maybe I’ve been wrong all the time. I guess we’ll never know for sure, though.

I don't think you're wrong. We've all heard the rumours that they were forced to add the song to the album which is wild, it's not like it was lacking ballads. Not performing it fully at all corroborates that a little. It's one of the few songs there is zero trace of footage of them working on during the BJTV videos (I THINK Love Me Back To Life is the other)

Ironically I like Santa Fe better than Blaze Of Glory (the song) Love the whole album though.

I love Fingerprints because of the guitar solos. I also love the final solo of Story of love.

I don't ever want to see Richie back with the band. It's done for me, they had a great run but it's been 10 years and after all Jon has said about it, I'd respect him less if it happened.

I really enjoyed THINFS and 2020 and quite like about half of WAN.

I have quite a few, but I'll go with this one for now.

I think The Fighter is one of the best songs Jon has ever written.

Obviously I understand the purpose of this thread but still, respectfully

Pretty much like HAND is IML 4.0 but still fun but yeah. I mean, it's no masterpiece but sounds nice on the album for me. And it indeed sounds like Never Say Goodbye. Something similar would happen again on The Circle (Bullet/Keep The Faith, Work For The Working Man (eww)/Prayer, We Weren't Born To Follow/Born To Be My Baby).

Anyway, I don't see this album mentioned here a lot so I'll just say it: Destination Anywhere is just as good as Blaze Of Glory. I just love Jon so much for making it.

While we're at it, Misunderstood is also great. It was actually a hit in my country because it was in the soundtrack of a soap opera back then. Never played on a tour concert here though, sadly. The crowd would go crazy for it.

I'll Be There For You is brilliant guitar-wise, but God that chorus sucks. It's just "you" rhyming with "you" verse after verse.

Who Says You Can't Go Home can f*** right off. Those "it's alright" x100 are no better than Limitless. And damn it's extremely overplayed, 100% undeserving of being a staple.

Last but not least: I love Whole Lot of Leavin'.

Now please, if anyone say anything about Any Other Day I'll lose my shit

- I love Room at the end of the world. Indeed, I think that production issues and a couple of tracks (Amen and Army of one) apart, What about now is a good album which I listen to now and then, and I think it receives more flak than it deserves because of its (alleged) role on Richie’s departure.

- Never understood the hype for Brokenpromiseland. Ok, it’s a nice song, but nothing to call home. I didn’t like much the “ooh ooh oohs”.

- I think Bounce should have been the lead single for the eponymous album.

- I love Captain Crash live. I prefer it to the Lost highway cluster of songs they used to play up to 2019.

i felt like this when it first came out in 95. But its my 2nd fav album of theirs now.
I dont know how old you are or when you first became a fan but as fan aged 20 back in 95 this album was everything i wasnt listening to at the time - pantera, white zombie, corrosion of conformity- heavy stuff so as soon as i stuck this on i was like this sucks. But over time its blossomed.
Reallu dont understand your shallow song writting comment either.
I think TD is an album of everyone bringing their best to the table.
