Seriously, though, that is what someone once told me when I explained, idk, why I thought a song was written during a specific time period or why I thought it may have been more Jon than Richie or vice versa, or something. It was a while back but I'm not sure when; and there's no good way to search it.

Anyway, no, I didn't agree with his opinion; and I still analyze lyrics like it's my job because I think lyrics can tell us a lot about the people who write them. I just don't post much about it anymore because people typically think I'm reading too much into them, or trying to stretch a point to make them say what I want them to say, when I'm not. It's just how I see them. (It's part of that whole dot-connecting thing.) But it's useless to try and defend a position that's totally subjective to begin with.

From your response I kinda gathered that you had taken what I said as agreement, so I just wanted to clarify. No worries.
