Heh, I remember this article from a few years ago ... just about all of it is opinion and speculation.

For a start: Then there's the fact that he worked with great producers like Bruce Fairbairn and Bob Rock who will just tell you which parts of a song are good enough to record, and make you re-write the rest, so they probably filtered out tons of Jon's crap.

They "probably" just filtered it out? Yeah, that's a real claim to the truth.

And Just Older owes a lot to In These Arms? Like what exactly?

How does one "rip off" their own song?

How does this guy know a chat up line that Jon allegedly used at a party? Can we say "creepy stalker"?

I've read a far more recent interview than that where Jon talks about being good friends with Joe Eliot from Def Leppard

And the mind boggles as to how Jon is a poor songwriter for co-writing with Richie, Dave, Desmond, Max etc., yet they're all clearly amazing songwrites despite all having co-written with Jon .... Or in the case of Richie, having written only two songs by himself that he's then put on albums ... does this mean he is always "surrounded by able songwriters"?

At the end of the day ... someone trying to pass their opinion off as fact.
