Richie's voice is good, but a little bland for my liking.

I agree that of the two Jon is a better singer. I like Richies voice fine when he's doing his solo stuff, but I can't imagine him singing bj songs. I was never impressed with his version of IBTFY, I like this duet version the band is doing now much better.

yeah you are right. its not exactly comparable but frank sinatra`s voice in my opinion got better as he got older it seemed to get deeper and deeper just amazing.

as for Jon and richie , i like richies voice but sometimes Jons vocals (on older live stuff) are just unbelivable milton keynes 1993 (i think) is one of the best vocal performances ive ever heard by anyone.

I agree. Richie's voice is really powerful but sometimes sounds strange... I think he's not as "natural" as Jon.
I still haven't been to any concert...but I'm really curious to hear how Jon's voice sounds

Yeah you guys pretty much gave what i thought.. Richie has a nice voice but its much more of a country voice.. Jon really has that grunt in his voice to make the song sound like rock and roll; Just Richie's voice is better but not for Rock

Well, see Im always hated when I defend Richie here. I always gotta fight for him . See I saw a lot of tours..I LOVE Bon Jovi as a whole I REALLY do ( other story in another topic about me goin all over 300 shows ETC)
BUT ....I got to say while I enojy them I REALLY go to most of these shows for Richie . I love the way he emuulates sings and expresses himself . I LOVED IBTFY over and over and over ...I saw it 55 times or better last outing and it NEVER got old for me , I dont know I just loved it.
I guess As well I saw 90 percent of the undiscoved tour...and probally 12 shows in 91 ( I was a bit young in 91 to criss cross the country) and I loved him with his band , Crystal IS AN amazing backup signer on those tours, and Everett Bradley isnt too shaby .
I got to attend Rocking The Corps ( family in there) and I got to say Richie was brillant on that platform.
I got to attend the Brain Wilson Gala THAT was amazing .See THESE are the performances no one gets to hear or see ( some you do) and its where he shines best . The tour he doesnt , Jon is the frontman and gets the limelight I guess in that sense juslty so .
I dont think Jon is a great or better singer ..better frontman YES . Richie leads his band quite diffrently and at a Richie show I often feel Im hanging with a group of freinds and we having a party...( Allentown PA 98 is an example)
I repect your opinions I guess , I guess we can agree to dissagree and thats ok .

very true .. Richie has a very nice good powerful voice ..but Jon is THE singer .. for me a singer doesn't need to have a better voice in a term of qulaity he needs to have a recognizable voice with some singer soul in it .. jon's voice is all this (even when he cannot hit high notes ... ) his voice has the charisma and the seduction power but you can like it or not because it is not perfect .. it's more like Jon's voice talks to you or don't .. this is why generally said Richie has a better voice (more powerful less nasal ) but Jon is THE SINGER ....

on this tour I didn't hear Richie ... does it mean he does not sing or just we dont hear him I dont know but I MISS his harmonies (even if Jon is the singer a tour like the 3 shows I heard with no Richie backvocals and harmonies is very much lacking of what I call he Jovi power ...I mean jon sang very well but it was like in a solo tour ) I mean yes Jon is the better singer but without Richie back vocals his own vocal are very FLAT .. Richie 's voice make Jon's voice having 100% of its power and seduction .... it's like eating spaghettis (Jon voice) without sauce (Richie voice) spaghettis is the main dish without spaghettis you have nothing ... but the spaghettis flavor need sauce (Richie) to LIVE really
