This is super cool. I wonder how many people voted.

I was expecting Metallica to win against Tom Petty and then crush Bon Jovi especially from a guitar enthusiast site.

I expected the same as well. I was surprised when BJ beat Aerosmith, and was expecting BJ to fall to Van Halen.

But it's not Guitar World's readers that are making this happen. These polls have been shared on Facebook hundreds of times. Right now, I'm looking at how many times the final poll was shared, and it says 1.4 thousand shares. So this is the public at large voting.

I suspect that if BJ had been up against Metallica, BJ would have blown Metallica away. I love and respect Metallica, they're a great band, but they're a metal band, a popular pop rock band has a broader fan base, thus has an edge.

The poll is still open and BJ's lead has shrunk down to 5 points. I'm seriously starting to think they're keeping it open to give the Heartbreakers a chance to catch up. Pretty f'ed up if that's the case.

I don't understand how that would serve any purpose. Why would it give TPATH fans a chance to "catch up"? Wouldn't it give BJ fans the same chance to cast more votes as well?

Why would it make a difference? Idk. But BJ started out with a 20 point leave this morning, and they slowly lost that lead throughout the day. It was clear pretty early on that BJ was trending down and that TP was trending up. Idk if they notice that trend and kept the poll open hoping that BJ wouldn't win, but I do know that BJ is now losing by 5 points. But, the poll is still open, so let's see what happens.

Day 3 and the poll is still open. BJ has made a come back and is now up 12 points.
