Me too. I could write a song very easily about that. What do we do to enter anyway? Just write a song with the chosen title and send it somewhere?

Cliche city - doesn't need rock in it... that would be worse

Where are the "born to run", "mama's a voodoo lady", "captain crash" equivalent sort of titles... ie ones that allow you to do more than just say "i love you and i miss you, and life is empty and hollow without your smile" all the time.

I still think it's undermining the existence of music forum even if not everyone are members. And it certainly has nothing to do with "General BJ"

Don't worry, my entry for one, won't contain those type of lyrics!! Nobody picked my suggestion for a title either - "I am explosively violent" There wouldn't have been any cliched love lyrics in that one

But in the end does it really matter???? As long as people enjoy themselves, that is all that counts.

Laura went on about this in the music forum. All we r doing is letting ppl vote on a title. Then letting people vote on the winner. Was the best way we could think of doing it.

I apologise for ROCK not being in the title....

I did not 'go on about this' in the Music forum, I was taking part in the discussion, without realising that I was late as usual, and the choices had been picked out already. And, instead of commenting it here, you could've replied to my post there... As it has nothing to do with this thread! (edit: just noticed you did y-day. everything else still stands.)

Aren't Born To Run or CC also songs about love in a way? How about seeing the challenge in writing a love song without cliched lyrics?

Captain Crash I was referring to the title - and it's pretty nonsensical really.

Born to Run is in part about love but it's much more than that - it's more about rebellion. I certainly never hear it as a love story... though it's romantic in tone.

nothign wrong with writing about love. pretty much everyone experiences it at one point whereas not everyone knows what it's like to be high or get in fights.

But I digress, Fade into you by mazzy starr is a pretty cliched name but is one of the most beautiful, haunting and profound songs ever written.

I see what you are saying, just wanted to state the challenge could be to avoid cliched lyrics even if the song is about love.
