For me it has nothing to do with money, slow connections or cheating. It's just the ceremonie of opening the CD and listening to the songs for the first time in the order they were meant to be.
Downloading it before would be like knowing what you get for Christmas 2 weeks before. You might be happy about the gift anyway but it's just not the same.

I have heard several songs from Bounce before its release, but I didn't want to hear the whole album. I wanted to be suprised ....and it worked! Moreover, the CD quality is still much better...

Its out today apparently (joking), I have downloaded Bounce but i was going to wait to buy it. I decided to download it last week as i wanted to hear the other songs i hadnt yet heard. I cant buy it today or in the near future as i am skint that is the main reason why i have downloaded it, but i do prefer the cd at the end of the day the cd is for keeps, your computer might crash and you loose all the stuff you got on it plus the sound of some songs which are mp3 are not cd quality.
But i do think if you download it before you buy it, you arent cheating no-one, cos you can listen and decide if its good enpugh to buy or leave on the shelf.

I'm a little confused here,
I was under the impression that the album could be downloaded from bonjovi.com in full (After paying for it) untill the cd is released , then you would be sent the cd.

Have I got the wrong end of the stick here, If not how did you download it without paying for it?

The thing i heard from bonjovi.com was you pay £8.99 for the cd and couldnt download it but you got it at a discount price. I got all the album off winmx.

As soon as the first person got it (In Japan) - It became available over Kazaa etc.. So u could buy it & listen to it, listen to the 30 sec clips on BJ.com or download it from Kazaa.

I would only consider the 3rd way cheating & have nothing against ppl who wished to hear the album before release. Its just not the way I wanted to do it.

"I mean surely it is the "music" that is important, not the phisical disc you hold in your hand. I think that the sooner you get to hear the music the better!! I mean why wait, if you can get it?! Because you could be denying yourself an amazing listeing experience, and without looking on too bleak a side of things you could step of the curb last week and...well you get the picture. We aint getting younger."
I agree, Track7. And I don't feel the band is being "cheated" in any way. I'll still buy the CD, it's an addition to my collection. Even if I thought it sucked, which I don't, I'd still buy it because it's Jovi and it's what I do. A big thank you from me to the Japenese fans who uploaded it to their computers so I could download it! Plus, with that version there are bonus tracks which we just don't get in the US.

I don't have anything against those of us who download and then still go out and buy it. My beef would be with those who just want free music. I feel that if you are a true fan you should support the band in any way you can...

My boyfriend asks me everyday if I want him to download it for me. I say no and it's not because of the thought of cheating the band or sound quality... If you don't mind the comparison, it's like sex. The antcipation is foreplay and everyday that anticipation builds up and builds up until the the minute you get the CD pop it in your CD player and then it's like...um...well... you know...!! But it lasts longer.

That's my motivation for waiting.

Hey Jovi-Obsession, I know what you mean, wish it lasted as long as your average BJ CD though...!!

Seriously, the problem is with the people who just download music for free. Personally, I don't mind BJ getting my £12.99 for the CD, just as I don't mind giving money to anyone who entertains me...

Anyone who can take me away from the drudgery of everyday life for even a second deserves every penny they can get, as far as I'm concerned!!

As long as you intend to buy the CD then when you download it doesn't really matter... I've bought so much music from bands that I wouldn't have even heard of if it wasn't for the internet it's untrue!

Does anyone else find that the internet leads you to buying more music than less music?
