JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

It's not the best song of the record. But I think it could've charted better than the other 3 singles.

IMO, Nothing beats classic Bon Jovi. Jon holds a grudge against those two albums becasue he had no control over them, he was a puppet to his record company, and they weren't commercially successful. I personally think they are great and don't get enough credit!

It's classic 80's Bon Jovi. The high vocals and Jon's signature scream/screatch. Jon was 20 when he recorded that first album.

My top 5 are (Runaway and IAOOL aside):

1. Silent Night - One of the best Bon Jovi ballads ever. Always, Bed of Roses, IBTFY, NSG, then Silent Night!

2. She Don't Know Me - Even though Jon didn't write it, who cares. It's freakin awesome!

3. The Hardest Part Is the Night

4. Shot Through the Heart

5. Roulette

They are all awesome! You can't be a diehard fan without totally loving these albums.

Love them! Also Only Lonely, Always Run To You, among others.

WFTWM is a terrible song. Tepid, regurgitated crap with zero soul and a blatantly contrived bullshit political message.

The problem I have with WFTWM and most post 2K songs is that they don't sound youthful and current. Once a song sounds old and dated, it's done! The worst thing Jon did to that song was perform it live acoustically before the album was released. He butchered that song so bad that it left a permanent mark in everyone’s head.

Songs from These Days and prior had that youthful sound to them. They had stretched vocals, power, and emotion.

IML comes along and becomes a hit without all of that which makes a light bulb go off in Jon’s head. He thinks he can throw down average vocals and rely on production to carry a song. IML has all these sound effects going on but the production worked because it was new, fresh, current, and the song did have some magic to it. The timing was right for that song too.

When I first heard What Do You Got, I knew from the first note out of Jon’s mouth it was a bust. It's not a bad song overall. It's just flat, lacks emotion, and it's dated. If Jon re-sings that song in 1994, it's could have been a hit.

Not really, everyone here seemed to like it when he did it acoustically, thought it would be a Jovi classic

A combination of being a bit insincere, coming at the same time as quite high prices for The O2 gigs and add a splash of that ridiculous dance and that's why it didn't go down well. Although I wonder if it would have worked better in the 3rd person?
