Better than In These Arms? That's ridiculous.

I wouldn't consider In These Arms a ballad in the same vein as those mentioned.

I have a soft spot for 'She Don't know me', ok, I have a full crush on that song. Its better than most songs of Bounce, actually most of that debut album is in my opinion.

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

Not in exactly the same vein, it's still a ballad though.

There's a difference between a love song and a ballad (in my opinion). You'd never see In These Arms on any Monster Ballad compilation. Well, you'd never see any Bon Jovi song on those, but you know what I mean.

Many consider Livin' On A Prayer to be a love song. I wouldn't consider it a ballad though.

I wouldn't consider it a ballad. But I guess there's no proper guideline to what is and what isn't lol.

And I agree, She Don't Know Me is great. Also, Shot Through The Heart is better than Bad Name.

I love Shout Through The Heart, but you probably wouldn't say that if you hadn't heard Bad Name a bazillion times. It's just been overplayed, and ruined with the awful live performances since 2000.

But I genuinely think STTH is better when it comes to studio versions. The intro for example, is brilliant. It also has sort of deeper lyrics than Bad Name. Just like it better thats all. Bad Name is not a bad song at all, its obviously great, but I'd rather hear early ish live performances like Rio '90 (brilliance!) than the studio version. STTH studio version still interests me more, it has the intro, awesome typical keyboard stuff, more drama instrumentally, not the same kinda high school type lyrics.

There's no question - The earlier live versions of Bad Name were fantastic. It's tough, because both songs are great. I can certainly understand your love for STTH.
