I don't hear "more" anything in the 80's versions except more higher notes. He had less control of his voice then and less variety in the way he used it.

Dude... I was collecting Bon Jovi bootlegs when you were in elementary school. I have a collection that would rival anyone else's. I've heard plenty from all eras.

More depth.... less volume... more power. I don't think screaming one's vocals is necessarily a good thing. I think he sounds better now.
