You're right. And all you have to do is listen/look at bootlegs from the 80's and 90's and you'll hear what he could do. The songs just don't sound as good anymore.
I can't stand to hear Bad Medicine live anymore, it just doesn't work. The same with YGLABN. He doesn't even try anymore.

Yes, it's just too bad. And the age excuse doesn't stand, listen to Bono from U2 on the live in Boston concert, he's been there longer and still gives it all he's got, and he's still got a lot. U2 has been clever enough, and able, to get back to their basics after "overthought" and "overworked" albums (Zooropa and Pop). And that doesn't mean they're doing the Joshua Tree again.
That's what Bon Jovi has to do, get back to their basics, and wake up the hunger.
