Not my favorite song by any means but I relate to Who Says You Can't Go Home. I went to college out in Berkeley, CA - then got a job, married (not in that order LOL) and finally said - I hate it here - I want to go home. Everybody told me I was crazy, you've been gone a few years, they said. They also told me "You can't go home again - it's never the same" Well I ignored 'em all and came home and I have never been happier to have done something in my life. This IS home and I think ithe song was written with similar experiences in mind.

Living in sin.
This song tells the story of my life. I've always loved it and then I found myself in that story.Everytime I think about it I'm shocked, but that's it. I'm the girl and my boyfriend is Jon's talking.
When I listen to it sometimes I feel sad and sometimes it helps me to try to hold on.

Hey God
this song raises the questions that are going through my head right now. its quite easy to blame God when things dont go the way you want them to and with regards to my own life i do this too much. and i also question why He doesnt help when i ask. probably because i want more than i give back.

Hearts Breaking Even
i remember quoting the beginning of this song to someone once. it probably sounds stupid but at the time it was really cute.
not everything applies but the main idea does. i think.

Something for the Pain
yeah... go figure.
I can think of alot of times I've felt like these three songs. Especially Hey God and Something For The Pain.

Yeah I'd have to go with the majority here and say Hey God, if definately raises the question that if there is a god why the hell does he let all the poverty/violence etc go on in the world today. On a personal level you think hey I'm a good person why is so much crap happening to me.......What The Hell Is Going On???

Someday I'll Be Saturday Night is another one which in the title is self explanitory, it relates heavily to me in a career sense, I'm in a crap job now but maybe someday I'll get to form a band and make some sorta career, wishful thinking indeed but why not.

A few others would be Keep The Faith, Something To Believe In, Its My Life, A Little Bit Of Soul and My Guitar Lies Bleeding In My Arms.

Definitely Someday I'll be Saturday Night. Saw them perform it at Milton Keynes in June 2001, the day before I was due to go and have a major operation and the words just hit home for me. Throughout my stay in hospital I listened to it non stop until I finally had the all clear from my consultant. That was my Saturday night and it will always mean a lot to me.

STICK TO YOUR GUNS..........i was a shy hometown boy and saw this knockout girl in a pub one night and went head over heels for her, i thought she was way outta my league. but new jersey had just come out and the licks to "stick to your guns" gave me the confidence to go for it, i did, and we were together for a while........ which leads me to the next song that i can relate to.............."FATHER TIME" as richie says on a live version, everybody has a one true love that got away...........well this girl was mine.

"Aint no livin in the backseat....if your gonna ride through town!"

Lie To Me, Hey God, I Wana Be Loved, These Days, Dry County, Stick To Your Guns, and I think the biggy is Have A Nice Day. HAND just says exactly what I feel sometimes, its pretty blatent actually. I'm so so glad it was written.

These Days and Dry County pretty much sum up modern life, Stick To Your Guns is a real moral to everyone I think (clue is in the title) and Hey God is another lash-out song which is great!
