There is no ONE BJ song ... that's why I've liked the band for 20 years - I identify with loads of them, but I shall try to keep it to a few:

Runaway ..... back then the same as today. If I had to pick one, this would have to be the one cause it got me hooked and needs no explanations or situations. It just is.


Never Say Goodbye ... cause it is perfectly melancholic and reminds me of times when I was naive and immortal and strong and full of hopes and ideals, yet already with an ominous premonition of what life had in store for me. Until a newspaper article, read casually while smoking a cigarette in the morning before work in the parking lot, would spill thick black paint over my ditsy love feelings and silly hopes and believes of romantics and the liquid would spread like molasses through my brain into every crevice, slowly but methodically drowning my desires of life and instantly sealing my airways, leaving me unable to breathe, clogging my brainwaves and permanently draining all emotions. Repeating and recalling, over and over and over, a promise worth shit. Regretting and catalyzing pain and despair into anger and hate. This song is no longer about fun and youth and romantics to me, but one that desperately tries to come to grips with the possibly cruel and perpetually painful and tragic and destructive and irrevocable and torturous and haunting and longing and crippeling and suffocating and insane and shameful and comatose and terminal consequences of the otherwise and usually innocent and hollow and fluffy road of teenage romantics.


I Believe ... cause I do...

I'd Die for You ... cause I can be tragically dramatic and always wonder what it would be like if someone felt this way about me and what it would be like if someone allowed me to feel like that about them.

I identify with loadsa songs, but I'd probably pick Saturday Night or It's My Life. When you get down, you need a song like that.
