I don't really see how It's My Life is pop. It's in pretty much the same style as a lot of their earlier music. It's certainly commercial, but then Living on a Prayer was commercial so I don't really see where you're coming from with that.
I agree that having a bit of everything for everyone is a bad thing. I don't like it when bands do that.
I also agree that they should try doing a few faster songs, it would add a bit more variety and help stopping similar songs sounding the same.
When I say diverse, I don't mean diverse as in completely contrasting musical styles, I mean diverse as in different from what they used to play. There aren't too many songs like Two Story Town on previous albums for example.
