I guess so, yes. Recently, I made a CD for a girl and I wanted Now And Forever to be on it. And it drove me crazy that there's obviously not a better quality recording out there. Yes, I would definitely listen more to it if I had it in good quality - or in better quality since it's actually not the worst recording.

Most of you are setting yourselves up for disappointment. I can see the box set having some tracks that have never seen the light of day...but a whole box set worth? No. More than likely you'll see tracks that have appeared on the various bootleg compliliations. There is not an unlimited supply of unreleased material and the mere fact that much of it has already hit the street in bootleg form does not exclude them from inclusion. Unless it's been released officially in the past in some form (most often singles/bonus discs) it has never been "officially" released. In other words, just because you have that mp3 or bootleg CD of a track doesn't mean it shouldn't be on the box set.

Also, for much of the material that has never seen the light of day...there is a reason for it and I don't care to get a box set worth of sub-par songs just for the sake of making sure that only material that no one has at all is released.

Furthermore it is highly unlikely that the box set will be only unreleased demos. Officially...a box set is a career retrospective, not a demos collection. You are better off going down to the record shop and studying other box sets to get an idea of what others have done. Otherwise this board is going to be depressing upon box set release with all the whining and moaning due to unrealistic expectations, regardless of it's true quality.

Once again, so true!

I like the song "Cadillac Man". The outtake has never been released, despite the numerous versions from bootlegs.
I'd like to hear "Revenge". KTF is a great song and if it was all twisted up to begin with then it's definitely on my wishlist.
I want to hear Nobody's Hero because the title intrigues me. Same with the song Letter to a Friend. If someone's posted lyrics, I haven't read them. Too bad these weren't bootlegged, but maybe now after all this waiting I'll get to hear them.

I want a studio version of Last Man Standing. I wouldn't mind Thief of Hearts as well but I wouldn't complain if it was missing.
I also wouldn't mind hearing the Amsterdam acoustic tracks that were "thrown out", as well as any TLFR tracks that were scrapped. I'm sure there's recordings of Sat.Nite and maybe others.
I'd also like to hear some more of the Crush demos. (Or Sex Sells whichever). I remember a list of at least 60 songs recorded for Crush and I would imagine there's some decent tracks in there.
I have a feeling that there were a lot of good demos recorded from the These Days album as well and I want them. I definitely would like a demo of Hearts Breaking Even. I'd give a lot to hear that song in different light.
I'd like a demo of Hook Me Up. The song would likely be the same but I wouldn't mind hearing a different studio cut. Maybe a scratchier version or something like that. Maybe the same for Bounce.

As for the real older stuff. A studio cut of Backdoor to Heaven would be good. I really liked Growing Up The Hard Way and however the song "House of Fire" came together, I liked it and a studio cut would be nice. A demo of Lay Your Hands On Me would probably be great. The basemeant tapes had songs called "Stand Up" and "The Promise" as well as "Too Much, Too Soon" (which is a great song) and if the band ever got closer to completion with them, I'd like to hear it.

There are a few songs that turned into others, like Water Into Wine changed to In These Arms. The original version of Just Older had a bunch of different lyrics, and although I've got the live recording, I can't make out all the words, b la bla bla.

I think Richie's material should shine through a bit more. Not necesarily with his own songs, but say for instance the band recorded "Mr. Sambo" professionally, or "In America", I think they should be included. There should be some instrumental material definitely. I've heard of Tico's solo "Wipeout" but I've never heard it.

Anyway, for the box set I'm expecting a live cd, a demo cd, a dvd, and a modified greatest hits cd. I can't expect much else as any other box set for any band is relatively simple with bonus goodies.

Kev, could you please tell us more about the songs behind the titles...when they were recorded or for what (eventual) song they were demotitles...like water into wine apparently became in these arms. Because I thought I was up to date on every song of theirs, but clearly not
thanks!

In these arms is a compilation of two songs. One written by Jon and one written by Richie and David. They put two songs together and made one out of it.

Since the word is there'd be songs of even the most die hard fans haven't heard of, we can't really know .
I don't really mind. As long as it's not a rerelease of demo's that were on singles.

You've got a point, but that would mean Obie and the band are lying. They've promised to release stuff that no one has heard.

I for one don't have my hopes up. 4 CD's worth of already published or bootlegged stuff is my guess. If we're lucky, one or two new tracks.
