I'm sure when it's released to radio, they'll have the typical Voicebox, which I used to only associate with "Livin' On A Prayer" but now it's all too common.
I don't think Have a Nice Day sounds much like Everyday or Prayer at all. There are a couple of simuliarites I guess (the verses are sorta simular to It's My Life at first) but the song has more of a rock edge to it than pretty much anything on Bounce. Lyrically it's not that kind of song either. Sure it may be another 3-4 minute somewhat uplifting rock song with a big chorus but I think you are jumping the gun a little by saying this album is heading down the exact same path as those previous albums..

To me, this sounds fresh for Bon Jovi and sort of suggests they may have learned from what we liked and didn't like about the last record or two. They've kept the guitars, cut out most of the cheese and gone for a more upbeat rock sound. This is a promising start but we still havn't really heard anything yet to to make any kind of assumption. Besides the rock version of Last man Standing (which sounds promising) there are at least 10 tracks we know nothing about, so the band could go anywhere.

Also, there is nothing in that clip to suggest a voicebox will be used on that song. Apparently that song hasn't been confirmed as a single so it might not be the It's My Life of this album as everyone is expecting.

I agree and highly doubt Have A Nice Day has a talkbox anywhere on it or it most likely would have been featured in the AMA performance. There is no reason to think it would other than the presumption they are going to go for a 3rd first single that uses it. Since there was no talkbox to be found during the performance, despite the fact it was all ready to be used following It's My Life....I think we can safely dismiss that presumption.

That does remind me to say this though.....I do NOT want to hear more talkbox. I think that was one of the STUPIDEST things they did on Bounce. The talkbox had always been something special...associated with only Living On A Prayer up til 2000. With It's My Life....it was cool to have one more well known song in their catalog that uses it...but it should never have gone beyond that. With Bounce they made it overkill. The fact they were going for a 2nd first single in a row with talkbox was rigodamndiculous...and Jon wonders why the song failed so miserably. Newsflash Jon.....despite the Studio Exec approach of trying to whittle music down to formula....the general public can smell regurgitated bullsh** and will reject it. Do the math and stop performing the f**king song with every live performance...you're beating a dead horse.

my hope for the upcoming record is that it's been done without goddamn drum-machines or -loops. and i hope that the sound is better than from those ugly 2 albums (bounce and crush)- the entire band sounded rotten on crush- on bounce dave's keyboards weren't really something to be proud of and richie's e-guit sounded the same on every single song... (tico answered the question about what was the influence on the bounce-sound: "richie's got a new guitar" ... )
so i hope they come back with a pure and clean rock sound and a record that has been made by musicians and not by computers...

Honestly, I like the talkbox. I probably wouldn't be a fan if it weren't for that talkbox.

I would like to see another album similar to KTF with abit more "cowboy rock" the way they used to be

prior to common belief bounce is a pretty heavy record production wise opn the rock songs. the guitars on love me back to life are huge.

I want more of the same, less filler ballads and throwawy hard rock songs just to be edgy.

The production will be absolutely immaculate if Shanks does his usual work which is cool cause i can see it taking a keep the faith-esque route.

I agree with you there. John Shanks is a great producer, whether you like the artists with whom he's worked with or not :P

I think they hit the peak of their creativity with These Days and will never come up with something as godlike again, sadly. Crush, Bounce, and especially TLFR were all quite disappointing, I thought. Therefore, I don't expect much from the new album...

I expect lots of slow cheesy cliched love songs. A few quick songs, some of which with a voice box in. Very commercial, crafted to fit commercial radio and the chart success, trying to borrow 'formulas' of some old songs that have worked in the past. Should be another good cash in for the Bon Jovi corporate machine and a further dilution in the quality of the BJ catalogue.
