Default What do you think about Misunderstood being the next single?

During the Shepherd's Bush gig Jon said; 'We're thinking about making this our next single' and then started playing Misunderstood.
I totally disagree with that choice!!!
I don't think this song has any hitpotential and it's, to my opinion, not even one of the best songs on the album! From what I've heard of the album, the next single should be Undivided! Or Bounce! Or if it has to be a ballad, why not Joey or Right Side of Wrong?

What do you guys think? Am I totally wrong here?

I also donīt think that Misunderstood is a good choice as a next single. I do not really like the song, you know it just didnīt "hook me up"
I didnīt hear the new album yet, only the songs from the web cast, but I absolutely LOVE "Joey" and "Bounce". Those would be much better choices as a new single, because I think, that also non-Bon Jovi-Fans would like them (a friend of mine, who isnīt really into Bon Jovi, likes Bounce and Undivided a lot! )
So letīs hope they change their minds and take another song as their new single!!

I do LIKE Misunderstood. I think the lyrics are great and I like the song, but I'm everyone else who doesn't want to see it as a single. I think there are stronger songs on the CD. I would go with Undivided or The Distance.

Honestly, I haven't really paid much attention to the song. But I'm surprised it's being considered the next single. They really shouldn't go with a ballad. They are already thought of as ballad mongers who can't rock. Undivided is definately what they should go with. I've only heard parts of that and it really sticks with you. Otherwise, I'd go with The Distance. Add Bounce to it. Then you have a block of 4 singles. Skip the ballad, guys..it's not a guarantee of a hit anymore.

I'm probably the only one left who hasn't downloaded the songs yet but from what I've heard from the SBE Gig and the NYC Gig I also don't think Misunderstood is a good choice. I wouldn't want Undivided either as a single though. Not because of the quality of the song but because of the content. It's good that they wrote about what happened but I don't think it's a good idea to use a song like Undivided to push record sales.
Only 2 more days til I have Bounce in my own two hands. Woohoo.

Well, I'm gonna go the other way - I really like Misunderstood and don't mind seeing this as the next single. Although from a sales point of view I think either Bounce or Undivided would be a bigger hit.

I like the song but somehow I can't imagine that it would be a single hit. Not the best choice in my opinion.

I can see it being a hit. You have to consider what year we're in....look at what you're seeing on the VH1 top 20 countdown.. stuff like "Days Go By" (Dirty Vegas).. "Don't Know Why" (Norah Jones).. and then that red hot chilli peppers song....and a BIG example: John Mayor - No Such Thing.

If you were younger like me, I think you'd get it. Lol.

HOWEVER........ You all have very good points that there are other good choices. Everyday (hard rocking song, first single) has already made it to 17 on the VH1 top 20 countdown (hope it gets to number 1) and the album isn't even out yet.. Plus, the countdown moves slow, so if it gets even into the top ten, it could still take time for it to get knocked off (I think it'll hit number 1).........

Anyway, see what I'm getting at? The mid-tempo sound is more in, YET people are still craving the hard-rock.

Hook Me Up would be a great single... as well as Bounce. .. I think Bounce will be the third single or maybe 4th.. Title tracks usually (but not always) are singles.

"Bounce" seems to have a lot of songs that could be very big hits....

"Love Me Back To Life" would also work out incredibly.. Couldn't you just picture these as videos on MTV/VH1?:

Undivided
The Distance
Misunderstood
Love Me Back To Life
Hook Me Up
Bounce

I could! From the mid-tempo, to more hard rocking and heavy.. I feel like this album is going to be big. I really do. Many of you have been looking toward the negative stuff... But think about everything positive that can and WILL happen. I already know that Bounce is going to be big. If Everyday doesn't do well (although I believe it's doing great now and will get better and better).. then another single will spark out and do awesome. But right now, I think everything is awesome.
