I want :

- More Richie-guitar-solo's !!
- Ballads should be power-ballads again ... those are the songs that stay (also with NBJ-fans) and it made Always such a huge succes !!
- Bring back the 80's rock (Prayer-way )

That's about it ... thank you for listening and goodbye

The first thing I'd like them to do is put This Left Feels Right behind them... While that was more an experiment, I don't really want them to carry on with that sort of sound on the next album.

Richie should definately have more solos.

A good old fashioned rock record full of songs that we can listen to over and over.

An album that shows the band care more about where there career is going.

Ballads should have more power and there should be less of them. None of this half an album of slow songs and the odd rock song every third track.

Less Violins. (Only in the background on ballads... if necessary)

More emotion in the songs.

Better lyrics than on Bounce.

Better production than on Bounce.

Get a producer who's prepared to make a rock album and knows what the band are capable of doing.. What they should be doing. Instead of a guy who think's they are a boy band and inspires them to take unnessessary left turns.

Leave songs like She's a Mystery and Open All Night back in the vault cause they arn't really what anyone want's from BJ... In fact, don't even write them!

No more 3-4 minute first singles about why I should live my life while Im alive etc.

More Richie backing vocals to cover for the notes Jon can't hit anymore...

Oh, and I want LONGER songs too... a 12 song album that goes for over an hour.

Ok that's all I can think of...... I hope the next album covers some of that

I agree to most suggestions on this thread. However, (I know I'll be crucified for this one), I don't have a problem with the drum loops and pop producers AS LONG AS THE MUSIC SOUNDS GOOD AND MAKES SENSE. All that crap on This Left... still didn't make up for whiny vocals and weak versions of the songs. Everyone seems to suddenly forget the good songs on Crush and Bounce, Next 100 Years, Cpt. Crash, Undivided, Hook Me Up, those were brilliant songs, apart from the These Days die hards and the KTF, Jersey freaks, (myself included in those). Stadium rock anthems with catchy hooks and power chords are what built this band's reputation, beautiful balladeering legitimized them, and polished storytelling songs with emotional playing perfected them. It's simply a matter of applying their best talents, it doesn't matter what the fans or record company says, the band's strongsuit is unshakable.

Well I guess everything's been said already. We want a real ROCK album. 6 minute long fast rocksongs. Oh and if there were slow songs I'd like them to be powerful, like something to believe in, with lots of drums. or something like stick to your guns.
But without falling in the category: same old, same old, I think they should make some changes, and that's where TLFR kicks in, I think there should be more focus on music. Not every minute of every song needs to be filled up with vocals, I want long intros, a good guitarsolo in the middle and a decent end, which would be open for a powerfull climax-ending in concerts. (like keep the faith and I believe and always etc.)
Also, I want songs to have a special feeling by sounding beautiful. For example, I love a song like Hey God, because it rocks. but it doesn;t exactly sound beautiful haha. A song like These Days does. Only problem is that doesn't rock. One example which does work is In These Arms. It gives this special feeling in the beginning, has a great melody (especially the chorus) and the chorus is also powerful. i think the argentina'93 performance says enough.
So what I want is more experimentation with moods in songs, like they did in TLFR. There's happy feelings (hands), dramatic (always), that sort of things. But that's all after they have some kickass rocksongs.
I would also like some songs which lend themselves to audience interaction. some woohoo's wouldn;t hurt for example.
But not only singing stuff, we should be able to be rocked as an audience by pure music, (without vocals ) because there's where the emotion mostly is, in the music.
Oh yeah, and while I said i'd like fast songs, I also wouldn;t mind changes in tempo. There's a song on the new nickelback album which starts of banging some german like drum. But it slows down in the verses to build up in the chorus again. Then after the chorus, there's an after-chorus part (If you get me ), in which there's yet another tempo, with another change in the middle. ) Playing with these things make songs more interesting I think.
But mostly it should be a fun album.
That's all I can think of for now.
Oh, and it wouldn't hurt to write a november rain / estranged / dry county song.
